Point was you need to master how to drift at a high rate of speed not just to counter oversteer, you actually have to master drifting in terms of control of the vehicle. Anyone can drift to save themselves from oversteer but it's completely different to use drifting as an advantage in terms of cornering at a higher rate of speed than you would gripping on any surface besides asphalt. With asphalt there is almost no point in which drifting would be faster than a grip run

It’s definitely necessary to keep you as close to the ground as possible while being able to handle bumps. Don’t wanna be rolling constantly. Also helps with jumps so the car doesn’t end up tilting back or tilting forward too much and remain level in the air.
