I've just put together the video stripping the engine ready to send it away. Thanks for the comment!

Great to see this video pop up as I've just taken the n55 out of my m135i after it started burning oil like mad and misfiring. Lots of handy tips in this video

Thanks Will, I'd get it looked at before it gets any worse, the previous owner lost a lot of money because he was given bad advice when it started knocking, after checking the top end they told him to "let it develop"!

Looking at the ‘blueing’ from excess heat on the crankshaft either side of the big end bearings, there’s a real good chance that some/if not all of those bearings have also picked up. I’d be very surprised if the crankshaft can be saved on this occasion. Great little video you’ve done though! Waiting nervously for your next instalment,🙈😂I drive a ‘62 plate M135i myself, it’s on 106k on the original bearings. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

You're bang on the money Bryn, I hadn't noticed the almost black conrod cap under the oil pump at the time of recording, I've only checked the one that was seized though. Future videos will document it, next video is external stripping ready to send for a professional rebuild. I'll find out the full damage next week some time.

Hey,what length (and diameter if you know) are the bolts you mounted the engine on? Need to buy 4 soon. Thanks!
