For me, this car is what other brands are loosing and is creating a drivers car (RWD, Manual, great 6cyl, without losing style).

Adaptive suspension is the biggest thing i think instead of a bone rattling drive, I just bought a M235 at least that has it standard and id never buy another car with DCT gearbox either I hate them , the 8 speed Auto is far nicer to live with. Once i put on the stage 2 tune on the M235 I can lay rubber when ever i want anywhere and its a rocket, the rest of its pretty bullet proof and no issues at all in 4 years. Oh i forgot to say only cost me 40K all up not 140k as they are going to be priced in Australia

Yes, not cheap in Austrlaia. But I wonder if you can replicate still the engineering in the M2 CS. Would be curious to see a direct comparison

I am getting one of these in September. Misano Blue, DCT, Gold wheels. By the way, my main driver is an old Nissan Micra. Strange, I know..

How did you get it bro. Dealers close to be keep jerking me around (2-specific dealers). I want to place an order, but it seems to me they want to order a random spec and then, once is their show room charge 30k-50k+ over sticker price for it. I think that's the game they've been planing all along. I've been talking to these guys since February and they keep evading the question. don't know if these is a well known scam going on with these cars. I even wanted to get European delivery if possible on the CS.

@@dennis3753 agreed. Get it tuned to unlock more HP. Install carbon fiber pieces- hood with intake vent, front splitter, rear wing/spoiler with gurney flap, akrapovic exhaust. Even retrofitted adaptive suspension. You can go quite far taking it sensibly forward as a planned out project. Best wishes.

# 4 Weight savings & # 5 Revised exhaust - and still that ridiculous looking rear muffler (like an unwanted hemorrhoid for all to see) has remained on the M2 CS. Surely, there's more weight savings, sound enhancement and aesthetic improvement with no fewer than 12 aftermarket companies showing BMW how it's done. List includes: Akrapovic, Eisenmann, Fi, Remus, Zaustworx, Active Autowerke, Milltek, Armytrix, AFE, Manhart, Lightweight and Supersprint to name a few!! Now that has to be telling you something!

I spoke to the M2 project lead of BMW M and he explained to me the reason for the ugly exhaust bulge hanging under the back of the car. The reason is crash safety of the rear end of the car. The main reason it is hanging so low is that when you have a rear impact from someone else driving into the back of you, the exhaust slides downwards and not upwards plus inwards. This was the official reason to hang the rear muffler so low, while we all know there is a lot of space above the rear muffler. They could have put it higher into the bodywork, but crash safety stopped them from doing it. The shape of the backbox has all to do with the emission regulations and the fact that the car had to be homologated for all countries across the world. A cost decision was made to have a system that works across all markets and not different systems for different markets. Clear answer if I say so myself...

@@Shmarc150 Thanks for the answer given that emissions and crash ratings are always hurdles to overcome for any manufacturer. However, it's still difficult to accept why the rear muffler isn't as prominent on other models such as any of the other M cars. You mentioned 'cost decision' and I suspect there's your real answer! I'm quite sure they could have styled it in if they really wanted to spend the $ and the time. I've also come across a statement on the tight timeline and the pressure to get the car into showrooms. Once again - I appreciate your time and effort to provide us with an official statement.

Please explain how the corona virus is going to cause BMW to make more than 2200 cars. That makes zero sense. You said they are definitely making 2200 but it could be more. If the car is limited than they will not make more than that. If anything they'll make less because demand is Down.

It is not artificially limited. What it means is that the production planning, previous to COVID, gave them a capacity of around 2,200 units. But as always, some of the production slots can be moved around to make a bit more cars if there is demand. It was the same as the BMW 1M. Now in the COVID phase, not sure what will happen. I guess only BMW knows for now.

#1 thing to know: it's over priced and will depreciate like a rock. You are far better off buying a used M2C.

This type of limited production, should have been made from custom order only directly from BMW headquarters in Munich. that way only true dedicated fans of the car/brand will be the ones getting them. I just hope fuckboys don't start feeding the American dealer's greed and paying $150,000+ for these specimens. The same ways they fed the Civic type r to double the MSRP (being sold at $60,000 some instances) or even the Mk5 GR Supras that were sold at again twice MSRP at $100,000 at some dealerships.

It drives pretty well and better than the M2 Competition. If it's quite limited, then it might be worth it

sonnyasu 2018 N55 engine...sound, for me, is more important than more power when comparing the M2 and 2019 M2 comp.
