20% less power and 20km/h slower end of straight, same weight but over 2sec faster on slicks race config. Awesome!

I loved driving the M2 CS Racing at Bilsterberg, very close to the M4 GT4 and a significant improvement on the M240i Racing as an entry level car! I enjoyed comparing the 2 on my channel!

Impressive performance of both cars! It’s amazing how a street car got a lap time so close to therace car and how a race car with almost 200hp less than the other car can lap faster relying on weight reduction, better aero and grip in that “power” circuit.

It's 86hp difference, not 200. The M2 CS Racing has the same power output as the standard M2 road car, of 365hp. Whereas the M2 Competition and M2 CS road cars, produce the same 450hp.

The big difference is that the racing car can do that time 50 times a day while the road car will start to slow down after 3 or 4 laps.

The big difference is that the "normal" car can go to the track, then to the supermarket, and then travel through the country, all while on ac and listening to some music, for only 2,3 secs of your life every lap. (yeah, i know in the racing world it is an abyss; but i can assure you, you would also have some fun with the normal M2)

"while the road car will start to slow down after 3 or 4 laps". Not true actually... won't last as long as the race car but will easily manage the 15-30 min sessions all day on a trackday without any trouble. Just swap the brake pads to track pads if you don't have carbon ceramics.

Gut, jetzt fehlt nur noch eine Rundenzeit von der 450 PS Variante des M2 CS Racing. Die Rundenzeit wird wirklich interessant.

Interessant wäre es, beide Fahrzeuge jeweils auf Straßenreifen und Slicks zu sehen. Jeweils mit vollem Tank, über je eine schnelle Runde und im Anschluss fünf bis sieben Runden wie bei einem Trackday üblich. In der Zeitentabelle könnte man danach genau die Konstanz der jeweiligen Fahrzeuge beobachten und auch die Unterschiede der Reifen klar heraus lesen.

Bin bisschen irritiert ob der GT4 Zeit. Diese wird im Supertest in Ausgabe 05/2020 mit 1:53:9 min angegeben. In der Videobeschreibung mit 1:55:0 min. Was genau ist denn jetzt die richtige Zeit?

Tatsächlich beide. Wir hatten einmal einen Cayman GT4 mit 1:55.0 min gemessen. Als das Auto zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt für den Supertest in Hockenheim war, kam eine 1:53.9 min zustande. Da ist uns leider ein kleiner Fehler in der Auflistung der Videobeschreibung unterlaufen. Sorry dafür.

A bit crap for the CS. I have a M2 Competition now with leightweight exhaust, new downpipe, some aero and better brake pads + fluid and suspension 1.54.8 is no longer a big wonder. -90kg, +60bhp and costs still less than the CS.

@Stefan Well the best thing is, you can crash the car, and just buy cheaper M2 parts or aftermarket parts without destroying the "value" of the car so much as there are so many M2 Copms around

M2 CS faster than a 718 GT4 (driven by a different driver)? Impressive, guess the stupidly long ratios on the manual in GT4 doesn't help

It's not. The gt4 lapped in 1.53.9 when driven by Christian Gebhart! It lapped in 1.55 when driven by Uwe Sener. Anyway, when tested by the same driver, the 718 gt4 came on top, despite having 30hp less and a manual gearbox

@@steffenkirsamer1464 Klar ist der 2er bockschwer und das ist auch sein einziges Manko... Die direkte Konkurrenz bei Mercedes und dem VW-Konzern wiegt weniger mit ihren Allradantrieben als die 2er mit Heckantrieb. Mit dem leichteren CS ist man jetzt ungefähr auf dem selben Gewichtsniveau. Selbst der größere Bruder M3/M4 ist auf dem selben Gewichtsniveau wie der M2.

The M2 CS Racing is more an M2 Competition than the road M2 CS. No carbon bonnet, no adaptive suspension.

@venomspeak so what? BMW M has been selling the M2 CS as a race car for the road. Clearly, the closest road version to the M2 CSR is the M2C. All carbon and bonnet vent on the CS is just cosmetic and it's as heavy as a Competition unless you specify carbon ceramic brakes. It's therefore not as special as a CSL and not sufficiently different like a GTS. The road M2 CS is just marketing.
