Unfortunately, these guys only did one race, the M3 got a head start and the Cup 2 tires weren't warmed up on the GTS. They also did not use launch control, they just went from a straight dig. This video, and their other videos of drag races would be much more interesting and entertaining if they gave it more than one go.

Any special edition is a total waste of money, by this logic. Though most buy this, due to it's rarity and the fact that it's limited production. The old M3 GTS was priced just as badly, but hasn't decreased in value at all. Infact they go for twice what they paid for them. These types of cars are brought as investments, nothing else.

In person they are MUCH better to listen to. I bought an E92 M3 because I wanted a V8 and didn't think the I6 in the M4 sounded all that great. Test drove one later on, and though I still prefer the V8, the M4 was a riot of a soundtrack. Very nice buzz to it in person.

The m4 GTS makes a lot of sense thou if your going to the track often. Prime example around the nurburgring m4 gts lapped at 7.27. Thats faster than a Mclaren Mp4 and Lamborghini Huracan. And 25 seconds!!! Faster than a normal M4

Hea Mees But the GT350 is affordable and faster, the GTS isn't and only investors care about value. Real car enthusiasts DRIVE their cars. The GT350 has a beastly V8 end off and is faster than the GTS around laguna seca nuff said. Only brand whores think the gts is a good car. I'd rather buy a couple of used M3 CSLs for the price of a GTS. For starters, the CSL doesn't sound like a fartcan ricer.

1001speedster I understand u the gts is expensive but ur exaggerating a bit. The gts is about 200 kg lighter than gt350 and has more torque. In a straight line the gts would win by a bit. And dont think the gt350 is more reliable, it just has a special engine. As for laguna seca, it's only one track, and test was made by americans... other race tracks are different. Although i love the gt350, i would always take the lighter car coz it's much more fun and enjoyable to drive and more nimble etc...

I have nothing to complain about the presenters, what I do think is a bit annoying is the fact that I feel the producers are lazy, one example being these exact type of comparisons between cars. If it's going to be a fact orientated comparison (times/speed), at least have common sense and do a couple more takes, in case you burn the tires when you start (example in this video), so that we may have a realistic comparison at the very least. I'm sure it wouldn't steal too much time off their very busy hands either. Very unprofessional in my opinion.

I think the problem was that they didn't jack the car up take off the wheels and adjust the rear suspension for drag racing, while the m3 was left in sloppy suspension mode so it could launch properly

Stopping PowerX I didn't say it was but everyone knows that comfort mode on the BMW is the fastest way to launch the car, the GTS has adjustable coil overs so it's hell to soften the suspension to make it launch hard.

I used to build race cars. and for the difference between the two in specs and shown performance. the one is not worth double the price from the other I used to take junk yard motors and turn them into 9 second drag racers. for a total cost of around $300. also using parts laying around the shop from other cars. I did this for I dunno.. 30 years......
