Lexus has always been an inch behind the competition due to the fact that basically all their engines are NA. Which by all means is a great trade off for a better daily driver, reliability, and longevity. But if Lexus ever went forced induction with ANY of their current engines they would take the car scene by storm.

They have. The 3.4T (or 3.5T) they're using in the LS500 is a beast. Not sure if it'll trickle down to other RWD models but I'm guessing it will especially if there's a new gen IS or RC.

I also have a buddy who has the street kit supercharger from RR Racing on his IS F. It is stage "0" (their lowest offering for SC), pushing 620-630 HP on pump fuel and he is beating hellcats left and right. They have a stage 4 kit now which is pushing 750 WHP (850 crank) on stock internals and transmission. The potential is insane!

Dude in the Rc-F was basically driving like Ai on a racing video game. Early shifts, starting at the different times, etc. Probably would be the same result but at least we'd get a more solid visual.

I would take the Lexus over the Bmw any day of the week simply for the reliability and the Lexus V8 sounds amazing. It's not always which one is the fastest or corners the sharpest it comes down to how much enjoyment you get from on a daily basis from your length of ownership.

Something's off with the RCF's transmission. Seems like it doesn't want to fully rev out, especially considering it's a NA V8 and in Sport/+ mode. Or is the driver deliberately doing that? Then on the last run that was supposed to be in Auto, you can hear the clicks of the paddles as the driver shifts.

The RCF owner was short shifting on most of the runs because from what he said in another video he isn't very experienced racing the RCF. On that last run I think he was in Auto mode as you can hear the car was in the low rpms when they were rolling together then it proceeded to jump into the right gear when he mashed the pedal. Also, the shifting on the run was damn near perfect and from what you saw on the runs where he shifted on his own, he probably wouldn't be able to pull off perfect shifts like that given his experience. M4 driving was also pretty bad though as they were also short shifting on some runs lol

The guy driving the Lexus is not the best driver. He always waits for the M3 to hit the gas before he starts to step on the gas in every race giving the M3 a jump start in all the races. So he was going to lose every race for sure. The guy driving the M3 was also slightly ahead of the Lexus when he started to actually race his car. They should have tested both cars with one driver who knows what he is doing and compared the times instead. But it doesn't matter anyway because everyone knows that the lightest car was going to win since they are both roughly the same in horsepower. Also, the M3's got a lower differential gearing which will make it faster than the Lexus. The only race the Lexus would have won was if they raced to their top speeds. The M3's 6-cylinder would blow up trying to hit the Lexus 172 mph whereas the Lexus would be just cruising along since the car can go a lot faster than the 172 mph that the Lexus engineers limited it to. The M3 is a boosted car and was not designed to move at that high of a speed for very long. If the Lexus had a turbo, it would have destroyed that M3. So this test was not really a fairly matched race since the RC F was designed to be more of a GT car and the M3 was designed to be more of a track car. So everyone knew the M3 was going to beat that Lexus if they were only racing for 10-second bursts below 100 mph. But let's see how far the BMW will go if it were to race at speeds higher than 150 mph. I'm sure it could do it but it would be straining and at all it's limits that wouldn't last very long at all before something in that engine would break. The Lexus would just cruise on for hours at those speeds because that was what it was designed to do. That Lexus will make it to 300k miles before it starts to have problems because it's still a Toyota that is reliable as hell. The BMW will break down costing the owner thousands of dollars to repair before it gets to 70k miles. That's just the way new BMWs are now. That's why you can buy them so cheap once they start to hit 70k miles on them. The owners know it's time to sell them before they end up with a 20k bill to replace the engine. They are just poorly designed now and built to break on purpose so that you have to buy a new one again. I can't believe the amount of plastic that BMWs have now under their hood. And plastic doesn't last very long when it gets really hot. BMWs are also known to leak lots of oil and you will have to look hard to find a Lexus leaking oil even after 150k miles. That makes the BMW a disposable car that you will have to replace before the warranty expires or be prepared to spend more money than you paid for the car to keep it on the road. The Lexus will just cruise on by at 150mph for years of trouble-free driving. So this test was an apples and oranges test. They are nowhere near the same kind of cars designed to do the same thing. The Lexus doesn't have any competition because nobody built a car to compete with it yet. The BMW has some competition with the Mercedes C63 AMG. Both those cars were built to go very fast for a short period of time before they blow up on you costing you more than what the car is worth. The numbers don't lie. There is nothing better than a performance car. But what good is it if it's not reliable and can't go the distance?

Not reeeaallllyyyyy...... If you look at the bumper lip spoiler it virtually at 90 degree angle so there is minimal wind drag.. That spoiler angle is adjustable and the owner knows what he is doing. He set it that way on purpose.

@@THESLlCK true, but it’s basically maxed out NA V8 power that point, where as with boosted engines, there is still a lot more potential to be had with an ECU tune. A 911 GT2 RS for example makes more power, 691hp with a 3.8L Flat 6 TT.

@@IReahpZz yeah, the autos are pretty fast on those 5.0s. I got gapped by them a few times in my Stock Stinger when I first got it. I did an ECU + TCU tune and now I can manage to beat them. 0-60 3.1s, 1/4 11.05, 60-130 8.7s on 93.

This channel is missing time slips. It great from a everyday driver that gets behind the wheel, but without numbers to compare, it’s basically useless other than two drivers just trying to cross the line first. There’s quite a few car enthusiasts like myself that analyze the data to see if the drivers are achieving the performance numbers that the manufacturer is stating. Helps us to understand the car more so we can improve. Just providing some tips for future videos.

This is fairly accurate to all the people complaining . As an RCF owner M4s are definitely faster but long run the RCF isn’t all about whose the fastest it’s about being able to beat the crap out of the car at the track all day have fun in the streets on daily commutes and still drive it home with no issues and last a long time with no engine issues or excessive oil loss like German cars which I also own . There will always be someone faster than you no matter what you own . If you can live with that fact then you’ll be a lot happier than worrying about having the top dog vehicle all the time. I could easily beat that M4 in a Camaro ZL1 and they cost the same. My point being Lexus RCF is just fine performing the way that it does .

If u want a new platform to use for track or drag(yes its heavy for track but still) go for the M4 all the way. If u want a daily that sounds nice and is luxurious then it's the Lexus. In the case of reliability I could care less since I'd just get a camry by that point cause if I'm spending this much money on a car I'd either toss power at it or I'd use it as a track car.

If i recall the rear is different gearing especially if you have the TVD. So i feel the better comparison would be the new track edition. I don't see the point in comparing a new generation car with an older one to begin with unless your just showing us a random race but i guess the race was cool in itself. I still like the channel and races. But i would prefer it be more fair.
