What do you do about bleeding them? That seems to be a common issue. I just rebuilt my motor. I lubed them up and put them back in the tray slot they came out of. They looked brand new. I didn't soak them in oil or anything and wondering what i should do about that. If i can avoid it i dont want to take the chains and cams off again

They are self bleeding. It it taps like crazy on startup that's okay. After some heat and idling they will bleed and pump up. When I build a motor from lifters that have been sitting for years sometimes it takes a while for them to quiet down.

audio segregation was just fine, I wouldn't have known the heater was going if you hadn't called it out like that

I was wondering how did you plumb your water hose to the turbo in m52tu?

On this particular engine, the turbo is only oil cooled. I haven't ever ran a water cooled turbo on a M52TU or M54. Only M50/m50 iron block where I get water from the back of the cylinder head and return it to a drain on the side of the block.

M54 2.8 L? It has the m52b28 crank , rods and pistons?

Kind of. In the US its called a M52TU. It is basically a M54 with a 2.8 forged crank and rods/pistons. A few minor differences to the oil pump, the crank cap supports, and some sensors but mostly the same as M54.

@@spankranchgarage it is called the same here in europe, i was wondering if that crank would work in a m54b30 just for the harmonics, i m studying those engines cause i want to swap my b22 to b30 so later in life to slap a turbo on it, btw i have a 5 series e60 from 2004, so i m catching some ideas from you
