Can you pull start that?
@spankranchgarage3 сағат бұрын
I don't think it will pull start. The gear pump in the trans needs to be turning to create pressure to clamp the reverser clutches.

Great work for the budget except for the tires . Maybe you should invest in a plastic tent for your future paint jobs 👌

How much did you give for it? I'm looking at a 709 but not sure if it will fit my 863 bobcat g series.
@spankranchgarage9 сағат бұрын
I think I paid 1100 for it, then put another 6-800 into it. Years later this thing has been really useful. I've planted a few trees, installed a septic tank, Made many trenches for utilities, etc. Its cumbersome but worth it. With some fabrication you can make it fit any skidsteer
@timbarbee94219 сағат бұрын
@spankranchgarage sounds good. Thanks for the reply. Seller is asking 2500 but I think I can get it for less.
@spankranchgarage8 сағат бұрын
@ If its ready to use without needing a bunch of work, its well worth it at 2000-2500. Its no mini-excavator but anything is better than a shovel, I think you will be impressed with how much work these little things can do.

You did a good job and made it look easy. What did you do yo keep this truck so rust free? Or are you in a place with no salt?
@spankranchgarage9 сағат бұрын
This truck is actually very rusty. Its been a PA truck its whole life. Its already had a new bed floor, quarters, rockers, etc in ~2005. Its already ready for new inner and outer rockers again. Pretty sad what the salt does to these trucks

Man, those trailing arms look badass, they’re a real creation!! Are you fixing to go with plate type triangulation or tube? Whichever way you go, I’m stoked to see the end result, you always seem to turn out a sweet looking yet functional product. I’ve not been there from the beginning of the channel, but I’ve gone to the start of it by watching it all as I do whenever I find a creator that I can get along with. Whether you have the qualifications on paper or not, I class you as one hell of an engineer, I’ve gained a lot of ideas and inspiration from you, keep it up dude!
@spankranchgarage9 сағат бұрын
Id like to use tubes for triangulation because I think it will look cooler. But I am sure some flat plate will be needed for shock mounting, etc. Thanks for the kind words happy to have you watching!

Oh no, the evil rear suspension again, haha. I see in the description, you've put 4th time lucky. I shouldn't laugh, getting this stuff right on a custom built chassis isn't easy. Great job at usual man

I showed up initially for the E39 Vanoss troubleshooting 3 years ago. You film stuff in a way that's very easy for the viewer to see what the deal is, similar to M539 Restorations. I don't work on my own shit terribly often or fabricate ever but I've definitely taken away some tricks I use in my profession. This buggy stuff is probably the easiest way to visualize and learn about what goes into a functional suspension system, especially with the context of the axle snapping problem from the previous videos

I appreciate the kind words! Good luck with the E39!

When I cut my roof bars, I had a sneaking suspicion they were under tension......I made sure to take caution as I cut. When I reached the last bit of material, the windshield frame let go with a loud THUD......Ended up being 1 3/4" of space between the top pipe of the windshield to the roof bars.

My sand rail has a big ole booty........78"🤣 I had to remove my roof bars as they were way too low. I also have the same issue with the top bar of the windshield being too low. Whoever built my frame was a toothpaste-eating crackhead.......so many gremlins.
@spankranchgarage3 күн бұрын
I hear you on the bad frames! I need to cut so much off and start over. 78" use to be WIDE but now theres factory SXSs that are that wide. Trails are getting wider every year

Nice work. Thanks for the video! Did get a giggle out of you talking about welding on the bending waste and then proceed to chop a similar amount of the back of the tube.
@spankranchgarage3 күн бұрын
Yeah it doesnt always work out, but if I was working with a piece cut to a more realistic length it helps. It also helps if theres several bends in one tube and you have to bend another too close to the end

How many different welders do you have Spark Ranch?
@spankranchgarage3 күн бұрын
I primarily use a Hobart 135 for most work. I use a AHP TIG for aluminum/stainless/precision stuff. Then I use an engine driven miller for heavy stuff. I have a backup chinese MIG welder and stick welder as well. So 5 in total.
