BMW n43 rocker cover gasket

Bmw e90/91 2008 valve / rocker cover gasket replacing intructions... n43 engine that leaks oil onto exhaust and smokes....this is a common problem on most bmw petrol engines....a quick and only fix..

Hi nas, many thanks for the vid! In Haynes manual it says to remove the injectors, but I would like to avoid that so I don't have to compress the sealing rings on them. Could you dismount the rocker cover easily without removing injectors? - or is there a trick?

How much oil leaks from the gasket? I was told it's a VERY small amount. Mines lost over a litre in 2 months. Is it the gasket or a more serious issue, maybe oil leaking into the engine?

hi i may need to replace my rocker cover too, i am 80% sure is the PCV valve failed but has to replace the complete rocker cover. how much did you pay for the complete new cover? and where did you buy it from? I am living in Finland by the way.

What were the symptoms of the bad PCV valve? I have engine oil in my pollen filter and wondering if it's a bad PCV

Do you have to buy new bolts for the rocker gover, are the original ones single use only?

Kev Cat No o mate. Old ones sty on the rocket cover and they are fine. Toque it 10nm

when you put new gasket in, do you use any glue or sealant agent? how do you clean the seating surface? any chemicals do you use in this job?

qitian zhang No glue or sealant needed as it’s rubber gasket. Best is to buy from the dealers

Hi, good guide thanks. Got to the point of removing the injector plugs but can't work out how to unlock the high pressure fuel pump connector. It's got to be really simple but cannot do it. Any tips please? Thanks

Just put a spanner on it. It comes undone easy. 14mm I think. Except for one which 17mm

@@nas205 hi Nas, sorry probably didn't explain it. I mean the wires to the high pressure fuel pump. There is a plastic clip on connector with 2 wires. Can't get it to release.

Just got it done and no more.smoke in the cabin👍 that bloody connector didn't come off so left the fuel rail in the car on a towel. Thanks for the guide 👍
