BMW N54 335I Coolant Expansion Tank Leak!

Hey Guys! So in this video I will be fixing the coolant leak coming from the coolant expansion tank. I first thought that it was going to be from the thermostat but it turned out that the top seal on the coolant expansion tank was giving out.

I’ve got the n55 335i since hitting 75000 miles the jobs just keep coming...hpfp,oil filter housing gaskets,cylinder head to thermostat hose,valve cover gaskets,valve cover cap,coolant reservoir,coolant reservoir cap,plastic engine cover with sponge..seems the plastic just isn’t meant to last even my front wings being plastic are noisy ,still to do sump gasket but waiting till I’ve got a few days spare for that headache then caliper slider pins starting to stick , noisy ac need to change vanos solenoids , injectors ...etc it never ends wasn’t the best £11,000 I’ve ever spent! My e36 sits for years and just turns over with no problems other than coil packs same as my 200,000 mile VW T4 .

My coolant expansion tank was spitting out coolant , could it be a bad thermostat or water pump ? Because it’s not the head gasket since there’s no oil in my motor leading to me thinking it could also be the oil housing gasket since there was oil in the coolant tank

The only things I have seen so far are faulty water pump/thermostat, clog, improper bleeding, and exhaust gas buildup from head gasket leak (fairly uncommon in these motors from what I understand)

Hey you leave the cap on when you bleed the system? I thought i keep it open?

Yeah, it says in my bentley repair manual to keep the cap on.

hey Max Berg ! I used bmw coolant. there is a link in the description for it. I just mix it 50/50 with water.
