Great vid & repair, managed to remove old vac pump without removing wipes & panel, had done many of those plastic water outlets on back of cylinder head on earlier BMW's , this was the only vid with the torque settings, best of luck with your future projects & Vid's.

Do you know what the T25 torx screw specification is? Same this happened to me it rounded off, need a replacement set might as well put new ones in

What problems were there? I sometimes have a hard brake pedal, could this be due to the vacuum pump?

For me personally, my issue was I had a lot of smoke due to oil dripping onto my catalytic converter, that’s all I noticed, i caught it before it cause any issues, a hard brake pedal could be caused by the vacuum pump yes. However a lot of other factors too, air in the system, a worn brake pad, bad master cylinder, brake system leak, sized calliper, bad power steering pump (common fault for the e90) for the sake of £9 for some seals on the vacuum pump it wouldn’t Hurd to start there! Keep my updated and let me know how it goes!

oil leak and a dirty engine bay, you have to top off you oil every so often and if you forgot to top you oil blown engine

How did you discover the oil leak? Was it dripping on your driveway or was it something else? I've had my car in 3 times for an oil leak and 3 times they say they've fixed it but there is still a leak somewhere and your video has me thinking it's possibly this

My value cover gasket was failing and dripping onto my exhaust manifold causing it to smoke bad! And oil on the drive way. I then changed the valve cover, and on inspection I checked around the back of the engine to then find it had been leaking from vacuum pump too! Alongside oil sump! Gasket needed to be changed on that too! All the videos are on my channel if you need anymore help. Once I did then 3 repairs I’ve not had an oil leak at all! Touch wood that’s how it will remain! 🤣

@@ClutchAndDreams Thank you for all that very helpful info! My mechanic said it’s probably just some residual oil still dripping down from before they fixed it but I don’t cop that. It looks like I’ll have to do it myself and your video gave me the motivation to just get it done! I have a 2006 E61 530i M-Sport and don’t drive it anymore. I like it too much to sell it and want to keep it nice. I hope you keep making videos like this for BMW’s
