Thanks so much; exactly the information and video that I needed having just bought the special adjustment part at my BMW dealership. $50 seems a tad expensive for essentially a bolt with a spring attached to it but it certainly makes the adjustment easier

Do you know where you can buy the 12 3 551 tool? Thanks for the video. This is very helpful, clear, and concise.

sorry but the job in the video seems very simple but in my case no because the engine is on the frame. It is not easy tight the upper bolt to 20 nm because there is the front suspension that prevents the insertion of the torque wrench.Do I have to take it apart probably. Could you help me?

In order to replace the belt I need to remove this engine vent connecting line. What is the torque for the bolts holding this line in place?

I have a ‘94 BMW R1100RS with 50,000 miles. I bought it with 43k on the odometer. Do I need to do anything with the belt?

Hello, I can not turn on the motorcycle. In my bmw r1100rt the maximum oil temperature and 1st gear (but dispay neutral "N")is displayed after turning the key on the FID. The starter is spinning, but the fuel pump does not turn on. What could be the reason? I heard from a mechanic friend that it could be a hall sensor or prevent rotor under v-belt pulley (change possision "tongue")?? Have you any idea ?

Good Lord. I was thinking about buying an r1150rt. I think, "no chain to lube, no radiator to worry about, no carb to adjust." But I have to adjust and change a frickin internal v-belt? Jeez.

Tbh this belt will last the life of the bike if not replaced...
