@@AlanBoulter I watched some reviews on the chip and it didn’t really show what people have claimed so I haven’t looked anymore in to it, but from what you were saying in the video about riding in top gear and being able to roll along smoothly is definitely something I’m after so will be looking in to doing it to mine, and yeah, hopefully it’ll add to the life of the internals?

The 1200 injectors have a finer spray pattern. There is a spray pattern video online somewhere.

I'm pleased this latest mod/repair has meant better starting and smoother running. I'm now looking into a set of new injectors for myself, my own ones have had 64 years of crud 😂

Sometimes with the use E10 petrol the injectors gum up so regular cleaning is a must,but yes upgrading them is no doubt a good idea.

It's like upgrading the CPU of a pc...everything works better...and another problem that can go wrong is sorted out for years to come..by the way..she sounds like a beast

I would not have blamed the brand of injectors, as replacing any part whether same brand or not, it is still a new part, and will perform better than an old part of the same or different brand. Even if you stick to OEM parts, there are times the OEM parts are updated with new part numbers for the newer OEM part. In the end, you will get on your bike, and have more confidence that the motorcycle will perform to your liking. Take care Alan, ride safe.

The 1200 injector is supposed to have an optimized spray pattern for better atomization over the 1150 that would help with idle smoothness and fuel economy. I have not made this modification on either of my 1150's. The 03 GSA just got a throttle position sensor adjustment and a proper air mixture balance, previously corrected a poor valve service and incorrect ignition timing (all previous shoddy work done by a BMW dealer). It is running so good and smooth now that I think I will skip the injector change.

Most of the big names use local (ish) refineries, whereas (I am led to believe) supermarkets and smaller garages buy from the oil market petroleum products refined in a much cruder way? I haven't done any real research, however the performance difference does seem to bare this out.

There’s nothing wrong with swapping parts for newer technology. Sometimes cleaning injectors works, but the internal parts do get tires and will not produce the desired mist pattern. Well done mate.

@Viper6-MotoVlogger I never said there was, I was just stating what I prefer to do. For all that, there are plenty of people that have fitted Iridium spark plugs and/or latest technology oil in 'older bikes' (to name just two) that have had to revert to OE

@@Viper6-MotoVlogger Sorry, I apologise, I can see how my comment could appear defensive or even aggresive, that was never my intention. I was just trying to say I like to keep my bike as original as I can. (I have fitted genuine Honda oil filters for nearly 40 years and I had front indicator brackets 3D printed when they were no longer available...🤣🤣)

I like to 'stick' with the original parts that were fitted to the bike from new if I'm honest. I've had my bike since 1985......so I'm biased....🙂

At the shop they have a injector cleaner which gets a fair amount of use and you can see it clearing out with the spray pattern.

I got the same injectors from John Gemi and his stage 15k chip, I have installed starts faster and smoother, but I haven’t ridden the bike. It’s good to watch ur review. Many thanks for this… Would u be testing the John Gemi chip?

Very interesting, I just had a look, was it the V14 injector of the R1200 you swapped it for & was it an easy install, any special tools required?

R1200 injectors, in all it took me about 5 minutes a side using just an Allen key and thin screwdriver to ease of the clips. Probably the easiest tune up in the world 👍🏻
