My 2022 1250GS Rally is a wonderful bike. Nearly 2 years old but only 10K on the clock. It's just a terrific all round bike in street and dirt.

My 2022 model only has 2,000 miles on her but I can say without hesitation that its the finest bike I’ve ever owned and I’ve had quite a few. I’m an older rider and I appreciate the manner (functionality) of this bike. I’m not an off road enthusiast so enduro settings don’t matter to me. What does matter is its street competence and because of that I can continue to ride with confidence at my advanced age. Thank you BMW engineering.

I bought the same bike with the gold wheels and absolutely love everything about this machine. I ride it primarily on the road and it handles like a sport bike, and it’s really comfortable to ride all day long.

Why were two different bikes used in this ? Was the riding done at a different time to the sit down review done ?
@Vicko026Ай бұрын
Eagle eyed! I think BMW needed the first bike back for an event, then I got the second back a week or two later and finished the filming

@@Vicko026 oh ok, thanks for replying. Liked the review, just bought my second 1250GS after stupidly selling the first a year ago.

How good ARE motorbikes!!!! I just bought one of these and I'm itching to pick her up. Feel like a 16 year old who's going over to his girlfriends place - and her parents are away for the weekend :). But I'm (only just) smart enough now to get the baby batter off the brain before turning up.

How do you compare it with the test made to the Multistrada V4? There's much difference off-road?
@Vicko026 Жыл бұрын
Hey Bruno! Both very compelling bikes, both quite different personalities. I found the GS to be better balanced at very low speed (walking pace), but was genuinely surprised by the Multistrada's capability offroad when pushing on. The harder I rode the better it felt. I think it's more capable than a lot of folks would expect. GS has a slightly better bottom end with that extra torque and a lovely soft throttle. Multi has a mega mid range and in sport mode is proper fast (170hp vs the GS 136hp). I also found the Multi's suspension to be less.. 'floaty' and more progressive.

@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff Жыл бұрын
@@Vicko026 both the latest and the 1200 since the Gen 2 (c2015) which had fully controllable damping in any rider mode on 9 levels. You could accept Triumph’s recommended setting on every rider mode or modify every rider mode or completely disassociate damping from rider modes and just choose one of nine levels at any time on the fly.

That kick to the left when you rev it, doesn't have any effect, on my 4th GS now in about 14 years, certainly when you're riding it's not noticeable ( holding the clutch in and revving it isn't normal riding conditions) I've thought about changing and trying something different, but I'm yet to find a bike that ticks so many boxes so well ..
@Vicko026 Жыл бұрын
I'm sure it depends a lot on riding style. I know there's a bunch of folk who use the clutch when offroad a lot more than me... especially if they come from a two stroke background. And I also know quite a few folks who are bothered by the boxer twist on the road. Thats ok - it'd be boring if we were all the same :)

@Angry-Lynx Жыл бұрын
yes, suspension is supposed to bottom out offroad, when you people stop complaining about that..... it needs to be comfortable, not ride with rally speed over big bumps. For me too hard suspension which never bottoms out is way more annoying, because that means you never use full stroke and lose a lot of comfort in riding, especially offroad
@Vicko026 Жыл бұрын
Yeeeeaaaaah nah. If you’re suspension is regularly bottoming out, thats not ideal. Its not supposed to be doing that and isn’t good for anything. Firm it up to the point where its *just avoiding the end of the stroke for how you want to ride. If you want to go slow and steady, you wont need it as firm.

the stock suspension is trash, like on any bmw adventure bike. the telelever front end really hates consecutive hits.
