Glad your not doing anything irreversible, that really is too nice to butcher. I've no problem when something like this is a dog and it gets rebreathed upon, but when they are as nice as that one... Good call 🙂
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
My thinking exactly. Everything including the wiring loom will be kept safe and separate. And the colour isn’t the original either. It’s a bad paint job when you look closer

Wow that is in such a good condition. Bought an R100 with my dad, we’ll be doing the same to it, can’t wait to see how you do it

Love the R100T. I used to have a 1980. Great bike. Glad you’re doing reversible mods.
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
Yeah apart from the colour that’ll be the only permanent change. But it’s not the original colour either.

Sure is. That wobble you get from the engine also is.

That's a really clean R100 ... wish it was mine :) Fresh fluids. New filters. Sonic clean the Carbs. Adjust the valves (I hear some slight tapping)... and she's ready to hit the road!

Is a super straight job. A little leak from the right cylinder that’s it.

This almost looks to easy for you always love the custom scene for these rides .Racer tv has some iconic BMWs on it' channel . Mongrel is still my favourite .
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah compared to the Mongrel or even the Ducati this will be a quick one.

I have an R100T that’s similar to yours but I can’t bring myself to customise. I have rattier bikes hence my R100T is for sale...... Not a classic as such but a nice, period bike that should have more miles ridden in standard trim. Looking forward to seeing the transformation.

Thanks for another great video! Those older air heads will sometimes have oil leak into the left cylinder if the bike is left on the side stand. Could be why you're getting a lot of smoke on startup. As a veteran BMW owner try keeping it on the center stand and see if, when it starts, it's still smokey. If it is, might need some rings.
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I have found a leak on the right hand side 🙁 I might have to change the gasket on that side.
@mohammedkassak91093 жыл бұрын
@@forthebold Im not sure if you have answerd this in a later video but you should never put an old airhead on its side stand for more then a couple minutes, the oil will run over and keep the engine dry on the righthand side. Just for further knowledge :)

Very nais bike, looking forward to see what you make of it🙂 Ps: you need the 16 cell antigravity for this😉
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
I was looking at the 16 cell too, but the 12 cell CCA does match up too.
@twistedbmwdriver853 жыл бұрын
@@forthebold I have the 16 cell on my r100 and I would never go down...I can promiss that you will need it. Specially when I dont use the bike it needs a little more cranking😝

Love your builds would love to see you do an old 2 stroker street bike I have a Suzuki titan and am absolutely in love with the old strokers 5hat were the king's for so long
@forthebold3 жыл бұрын
There’s one 2 stroker on the channel and that’s the Maico. But any road bike 2 strokes are very expensive nowadays.
@shmave203 жыл бұрын
@@forthebold that's why I mentioned the road bike and if ya picked up an old one not running for a project they are not expensive at all... Thank you for the reply

these bike just don t like starting leaned on one side. That s why they come with a center stand. it s because of the carbs. It sounds like it needs some valve clearances but still in good shape.

Revving the crap out of cold? WTF
@fortheboldАй бұрын
To be honest that’s not much of a rev on an engine that’s been bedded in that well. They can take it. Especially when you consider people jump on bikes and have them under immediate load.
