very good work! Respect! I have a question, which handles(brake lever, clutch and throttle) , min 16:00 in the viedo, do you use? did you find them at CafeRacerWebshop? I have a hard time looking for minimalist handles that are compatible with my motorcycle, be it with the brakes or with the throttle cable. Did you have to make any changes to the throttle cable?
@corner.custom
@corner.custom 9 ай бұрын
Thanks man, appreciated. The brake, clutch lever & throttle grip are coming from motolab.nl. Don't know if they still sell them. Like you've mentioned it was hard finding something with minimalistic look to it, but yet functioning fine. I needed to shorten the throttle calbe with a new fitting, but that's no big deal

Thanks for the feedback, great to hear. I didn't dyno the bike after the rebuild, but since everything is (as good as) new I wouldn't aspect major differences with the initial specs of the engine. But since the lost a lot of weight it was quite noticeable with the overall handling.

Just regular fuel. Make sure you work in a well ventilated area and wear the correct protection. Used Scotchbrite for the engine. There's a dedicated how-to video on the rebuild of a R engine on my channel. That goes into every little bit of the whole rebuild

Awesome build, great video. Normally there is lots I would change on a build, but with this I think everything is about perfect for what it is and it looks great. I'd have a slightly less angled seat and would run more on road based tyres, thats it. I think the tyres suit the style very well, but I'd gladly sacrifice a bit of style for nicer fell on the road. I'm really leaning towards doing an R100 bobber as my next build. Either that or another K100 or CX500. I can't imagine the R100s ride as well as the K100s? You've obviously tried several of both, how do you find the difference?
@corner.custom
@corner.custom 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, always nice to hear what other people think. To be honest I like the R's more than the K-bikes, that's for building and also riding the bike. The simplicity, looks of the bike and the low rpm torque makes the ride so much fun. With the weight loss they handle great, can really recommend a R build!

@@corner.custom Pleased to hear they ride well, was worried they wouldn't. I think I'll try and make my next build an R100 then. But I'll always have a longing to build another K. In a different style to my current one.

@EE9Civic decision is up to you buddy, over time you can do both maybe?
@EE9Civic
@EE9Civic 7 ай бұрын
@@corner.custom Oh, its already decided, when you said they are decent to drive that was enough. R100 next, once my once in a lifetime dream car build is complete this year, until then, no funds. I'll do another K100 later on, it wouldn't be challenging enough now anyway, I know exactly what to do and how to do it and all the components. R100 is something new and unknown. I already have a CX500 in pieces but its on hold since it needs a new engine, or at least a new crank.

Bit expensive built, should be doable for half the price i'd say, especially taking in account you start with a 4600 euro bike, that you fully disassemble, even engine wise. anyway, could have gone for a scrapyard one! Good video though, bit quiet, but high quality non the less.

The cost of the donor was pretty steep, but unfortunately the airheads became pretty pricey. You could cut down the costs, but that would have consequences for the quality of the parts. I'm using a new edit program and new music, so getting used to that. Thanks for the feedback
