BMW R1200 Independant

Great bike and video. It should be noted that the bike's sound with stock silencers is highly muted by the VERY restrictive system. Modify or replace the stock silencers so it has an open, unrestricted exhaust and you'll be ASTONISHED by the change in character. It suddenly has a lumpy, tough cadence at idle, and a roar under acceleration, more reminiscent of a V-Twin from Milwaukee, that's a shock to most folks, who never thought a BMW could sound like that. I have two R1200C's, and an R850C, and if I had a dollar for every comment & compliment about their sound, I could buy three more!

It is indeed a beautiful bike. I own 2 BMW's the 2004 R1200 CL and a 2002 R1200 C. They have been excellent performers and just a blast to ride. By the way I am 6' tall and weigh 220.

Why on earth do you test a bike with a 5'-6'' guy? His comments are completely useless for the rest of us, he's struggling to reach the hand grips for god's sake.
