About 18 years ago I took my then newish R1150GS around the ‘Ring. I remember it was about 14 minutes - I’m still a shit rider. My strongest memory is being passed by a very nice 911 with father and young son. It was very clear the Dad was pointing out the lines to his son by the hand gesticulations and the skill level was very noticeable as he blistered past me and disappeared into the distance. Always a great place to visit

It baffles me that people with no skills make this type of statement as in old man bike. Too heavy for off-road but they always parked in Starbucks. I swear in the right hands any bike is a hooligan
@btgmoto8 ай бұрын
I definitely regard the 1200/1250 as a real hooligan bike. You can scrape a knee, do a little jump, pop huge wheelies and stoppies, and generally hoon it. But stereotypes are more based around the people who buy them, than the actual mechanical abilities of the motorcycle. I loved mine.
@dylanmccallister18888 ай бұрын
@@btgmoto it definitely belongs on roads though. Road riding and offroad riding might as well be different vehicles entirely like planes and helicopters. I grew up racing dirtbikes in our woods and deserts here in the US. This much power and weight in loose unpredictable constant changing terrain is a broken hip or back waiting to happen for an experienced offroad rider. It has no business doing single track trails or crossing sand dunes. It is for gravel roads, and clay roads, dirt roads, and paved roads.

@@mrpantur7280Yeah here in Germany it's mostly the same. Of corse some of those guys can ride, but most of the GS riders take their time like Harley riders. Afterwards I was able to copy his braking points, that was a really nice memory of a fast GS rider, the only I encountered so far
