Great review/vlog. Im sure the dislikes are just from people who think being a good rider comes with how long you can wheelie for and only wanted to hear about how you win highway races.

I am so glad I just happened to come across your video. I'm a 48 yr.-old who has never owned a bike and have only ridden one once about 20 yrs. ago, and have wanted on ever since. I think I have the good sense and maturity to handle a liter bike and plan to buy one about a year from now. I'm researching different bikes, where and how to learn effective riding technique and such. I have to say that watching this video was like being right there with you talking to me. I'm leaning toward either the S1000 RR or the Yamaha R1. Great job, you should teach a riders' course.

Thanks for the compliment. Well most sport bikes today are equipped with steering stabilizers from the factory. This is the case with the S1000rr as well. I think it is an absolute must. The bike comes with a Sachs stabilizer, I find it to be an excellent, smooth, and easy to use unit. It has worked flawlessly thus far. I run mine around click 6-7 and almost max on track style riding. I think however if I was to purchase a stabilizer, say the bike did not have one, I would go Ohlins.

Good review. Tried it recently on the street and track and it is the best bike i have ever ridden. Super smooth, super strong, shifter is flawless and the seating position is great. I own a 2009 R1 and tried many others but this bike is just awesome. With the big bang sound it would be perfect :D Forget my first comment, this is an excellent review.

Awesome review and Vlog I really enjoyed it. I see a lot of people using steering stabilizers. What are you thoughts on these with your bikes? or the S1000rr. Do you think it is more personal preference or maybe the quality of how S1000rr is made along with the other areas in how it works so good? I know you said how stable it was at high speeds but I figured I would ask. Again awesome review and bike, and I enjoyed hearing you knowledge on everything.

Great review!! Very comprehensive. I have a Harley 1200 Sportster, and I want to add a sport bike like to the stable, but I fear this might be too much bike, but it appears like it's easier to ride than the S1000R. Our dealers out here (on Oahu) won't LET you test ride, unless you are pretty much a signature away from purchasing the bike. Quite the BS if you ask me.

Excellent review, specially the way you approached the none sense of owning a 1000cc super bike just for "street credit". I mean I love to go fast, don't get me wrong, and I love to do my stupid stuff (always looking for not so populated twisties and highway fast riding) but it really comes down to what your skill level is, and has you stated most of the 1000cc and even 600cc sport bike owners have no idea on how to handle their bikes (advice: get a 600cc naked bike and start from the basics), either on straits or twisties. My last bike was a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K9, unfortunately trashed in a moto/car accident (dumb cager passed a red light) and the Bimmer S1K is next in line. Gratz on the review and also on the public service you provided with your full sense responsibility comments. Subscribed.

Great review!! Thank you so much for this. Just some questions - On a full tank down to empty, how many miles can you get on that? how did you your initial break in for the brakes again? zip tie the lever over night and give it a quick grab once untied?
@ridendrive11 жыл бұрын
Correct, zip tie the brake to the grip, not all the way, just enough so that there is decent pressure on the brakes, nothing crazy. Leave it overnight, remove it, that should change the brake feel. Essentially all your doing is bringing any air to the top of the reservoir.

I just bought an S1000rr this year and I absolutely love it so far, however the only thing I don't like about it is how it makes my hand go numb after about 30 minutes of riding! I barely hold onto the grips so I am not death gripping them. I am wondering if I am the only one that notices that, and I have had several different bikes and never noticed that like this before. Any ideas on how to get rid of that?

Fluxx43 ok thanks.. just hit 616 miles today. You said in one of your videos you use the motul but I can't find it, was it 300v 4t 5w-40 ester core synthetic? Also one more question...... today I had a issue... twice switching from 5th to 6th it jumped out of gear. The first time it was a false neutral the second time I had some chatter on the shift lever, it was a horrifying sound!... I wasn't using the QS and both times I was just slowly getting up to speed. Any similar issues?
