You mentioned that the s58 moved from an air to air intercooler to an air to water intercooler as if the s55 uses an air to air system. The S55 also uses an air to water intercooler system.. Great comparison btw.

Very nice video! Love my S55 in my F82 Competition. 51,000 miles and it has been great. Very responsive with plenty go-to power in all gears. I’ve driven a couple G8x with the S58 and it is beautiful as well. Both are great in my opinion and pretty bulletproof.

Thanks for the review! I would assume there is a significant price bump in the used market when you go from the s55 to the s58? I live in a major metropolitan area and use public transportation for almost everything. I had not owned a car in 10 years but decided I wanted something to drive on the weekends so I bought a stock 2015 M235. I immediately took it to a shop + had VRSF full bolt-ons and mhd2 stage 2 plus added. (I don't live where I can do my own wrenching:-() I love the motor, love the sounds. Not ecstatic with the suspension or the transmission. I want to replace it with an M2 (S55) or M3. And although the S55 pails in comparison to the S58 according to this review. I feel like it would offer sufficient fun and reliability for a weekend toy.

A - Sounds like you've got a nice one! You knew exactly what to do when you bought it. It all depends on what your goals and budget are. High horsepower build or fun weekend car.

Hey, love your videos. No fillers and straight to the point. Would you recommend buying the new M2 (S58) as a long-term car? I drive upwards of 15k miles annually, mostly on motorways. I bought my current car new 8 years ago and driven over 150k miles. I expect to do the same with the M2. I have no prior experience with European cars (only Toyotas and Hondas in the family) so would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you.

I drive an M2C as a daily. Best daily I could ask for super reliable to as long as you do oil every 5k miles and all other maintenance when needed
