Thanks Marty, anytime. I'll be back home to Southern California in February when my deployment is over, and I'll make a new vid with the fully-blinged out (read: polished) trucks and swingarms, with the Razor Groundforce scooter wheels and oddball bearings that made adapting the new wheels possible.

Stuffy, it doesn't get speed wobbles. Your axis of balance is based on your centerline with normal skateboard trucks. The SC has a propensity to carve, and all four tires stay planted in a curve.

As opposed to making three word comments on KZbin? You have an opinion, I have a heartbeat. Life goes on.

Hey Kelly, have you tried the Curfboard, which is kind of like the successor to this board? Also, do you still have this board? How is it holding up after 20 or so years?
@kellyscars Жыл бұрын
I have heard about the curfboard! It's very similar to the carver trucks! I have carvers on my 1989 Powell Peralta. I still have the Street Carver, it's been disassembled for a few years, but I actually I have someone at work who can weld aluminum who is currently repairing one of the swing arms because it developed a very tiny stress crack in it. I plan on cruising it around at the Car Shows I'm filming these days! I'll make a follow up video to it sometime soon.

@@kellyscars yo thanks for the reply! I just recently got a Powell skull and sword reissue and put Carver trucks on it. I'm interested in curfboard because they seem really unique. Wish I could try them sometime before buying.

I forward the issue to my camera guy and tech crew. We will use jam next time. Any preferences on flavor?

I have ridden mine in a few bowls, but yes, it doesn't have the greatest ground clearance. I added larger wheels from the Razor GroundForce Drifter Go-Kart, and have gained about 10mm of ground clearance, so I don't grind on ramps and speedbumps like I used to... When I get back home in February, I'll post a video of the new wheels, and the polish job on the aluminum!

Haha, kickass! Hang on to it. I'm barely able to ride mine now thanks to my messed up knee!
@billymisfits8 жыл бұрын
would you say that the streetcarver, because of it's weight, is responsible for your knee? my pushing knee is also thrashed just from pushing on a regular board.
@kellyscars8 жыл бұрын
Billy, without a doubt. I pushed this thing for a solid ten years, there was a time where I was matching mileage on my skateboard with my grandma's Buick. I have accelerated wear on my meniscus from pushing that thing!

It doesn't get speed wobbles, it just wants to carve.

there are now Chinese knock offs if these design that are electric and the deck is made of carbon fiber. when I started googleing it there was nothing but hate for it on the forums...even though they had never ridden it. why?!? I think the design is sick! my main concern is getting parts, particularly the wheels.
@kellyscars11 жыл бұрын
Email me pictures of it for my site (Google 'Kelly's Cars Streetcarver"), does it have an ID number on the deck?
