From what I know, when you slap a Rotrex kit with 9-10PSI boost at max on the M50TU/M52 you get Around 450 HP at crank. With a turbocharger it will be more like 500-550 if the fueling isn't totally of. And on a stock lowerend, from 170/192 to 450 is a big step up. When you do a M50TU Turbo, use better pistons, Oilcooler, beefier rods and also bearings and I think 600-700 should be doable on stock crank with a bit more fuel and a not so agressive timing ^^

I can't get enough of you guy's videos! I rented a house with a garage about 10 years ago and out of nowhere I got a strong urge to buy the tools to fabricate and ended up building a 16' car trailer from scratch. In the, the trailer came out perfect like factory but before I could start something else the homeowner decided to sell and I had to move fast and ended up selling everything. Now, after watching you guys and a couple other KZbinrs, y'all are inspiring me to start my own channel that would cover custom woodworking as I remodel my home inside and out.. hands down grind hard plumping co is by far mine and my sons favorite channel and my biggest motivator! I spent most of my teens & early 20s doing this sort of shit with friends. BMX, dirtbikes, ATVs, "rallying", partying, fixing &/or modifying things. Unfortunately I had to move into a small town house, surrounded by (mostly annoying) neighbours, so I can't really have any fun anymore, with the exception of TV & PS4, but that's about it. Ive seen guys pull the ebay turbo apart and clean them up to make some really nice turbos. Bad side is they have to be reballanced before you can fully rebuild it

I'm sure you loose some efficiency from the turbo having the air make a 90 degree turn right out of the turbo. It'll be fun regardless but may require a little tweak for the tune. I thoroughly enjoy you guys content.

Two things: 1. That "stainless" manifold WILL crack. 2. I have about 100k miles on one of those Chinachargers in my turbo miata, and its still going strong! Pretty damn impressive for $120 turbo! If you have oil consumption, burning or leaking into the compressor, install a small oil restrictor in the oil inlet of the turbo and that'll stop it. Oddly, I did not have to do this with mine. Some people use a small pop rivet with the stud removed as a oil restrictor. Also - don't waste your time with the "turbo timer." They're pointless.

Put 2 head gaskets at once in to lower the compression. That might be better for the boosted engine.

2021 Oem turbo cars are 11:1 compression ratio. This high cr gives way better off boost response, means quicker spooling.

@@nordic5490 yes I agree with that but if you run high boost you should think about lowering the compression ratio especially if you have high boost at high rpms to protect your engine and it also gives you the ability to get higher rpms. It probably then will also run smoother in this area. But it always depends on what you want to do with the car and the engine.

the bov is adjusted to tight, the stututu noises is when the air goes thru the turbo, loosen the bov and the turbo vill sound stuuuu and the turbo will last longer aswell

The reason the turbo BMW ute is breaking up so bad is fuel-related. Either your injectors aren't keeping up, your dropping fuel pressure or your fuel pump itself is maxing out.

Guys you should go to a rich AFR first, way bellow 14.7, around 11-12 to reduce the combustion temp. That is not rich because it doesn't shoot flames at all (from my perspective). If that car will run lean, it is gonna blow up rapidly. Some ECU tuning with an wideband O2 sensor and gauge will do it and with proper cooling you can easily go for 18+Psi. Also as far I know a rich mixture (not too rich), makes a bit more torque than the ideal 14.7:1.

you guys should use FCP euro for the stock parts on your cars, they warranty everything so you just send your stuff back after buying and you get your money back! done it with oil, spark plugs, filters, anything that can be put back into the factory container

Guys, can I suggest that you put a strut brace between the front suspension struts as this will prevent them from flexing outwards on corners, great 👍 vid though and a turbo kit for $700’s wow 😯 and excellent quality too. You can’t adjust boost by Reving the motor. You have to put it under a load. You are just breaking up. It sounds like it’s running out of fuel. I didn’t see where you put a fuel pump in it. You always check your boost pressures in 3rd gear.
