I own one engine like that, tested it from Johannesburg to Cape Town and back. Three thousand km + no issues! What a design 👏 👌. Thank you for sharing your skills...like you knew that music in the background decorated my trip. Keep that content coming...only normal video speed please, just so I could copy and retrace your steps in fixing mine 🙏. Well done! Subscribed 🤝.

Thank you 🙂 Video is recorded in timelapse mode because there is more than 300 hours of work and footage also and I wonted to show everything from assembly (measuring and cleaning parts were cut out) so that was only way 🙂 Most important steps are written in video, for more questions feel free to ask 😉

Amazing build, you know how many hp?
@unknownswaps2 жыл бұрын
Tnx, didn't went to dyno jet, I am hoping more than 300(stock is 286hp),but more important for me is torque curve and throttle response

Which 90mm TB did you use?
@unknownswaps Жыл бұрын
It was epman universal 90mm tb, but did a lot of mods on it to fit with oem tps and custom backplate for intake manifold You can see more of it in this vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKHOc4t_bKhsb8U

This is m60 engine😅

I wish the M62 engines kept the timing sprocket instead of the stupid U guide. My E38 has yet to need it replaced, but how many M62/M62TU E39’s and E38’s have been junked because of that one fatal design flaw that had some people losing their car before 100k miles?
@unknownswaps2 жыл бұрын
Jep m60 solution is much better because of sprocket and double row chain that U guide no question... But lot of m62 got hurt because of lack of regular services with good oil, then tensioner starts to fail and in the end U guide
@ThePerfectionOfLexus Жыл бұрын
Lack of regular oil changes is the primary cause for failing guides on the m62. I've just been through a totally disintegrated U-shape guide with my m62TU engine, at only 82k miles. It turned out, that previous owners kept long oil change intervals (approx 12k miles or every 2-3 years), resulting in a totally gummed up chain tensioner/failed to tension the chain properly. I change the oil once a year and every 5k miles, with quality oil, since it's so crucial in these engines. Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaWolKeOndmonNU

@@ThePerfectionOfLexus lack of quality and consistent oil changes doesn’t cause the chain slack and start smacking the U guide. That’s a collapsed spring inside a guide tensioner. But collectively poor oil changes and collapsed guide tensioner leads to the ultimate failure. Driving once advanced timing codes are being thrown and chain slap is happening doesn’t help.

@@paperandmedals8316 Did you watch Timm's video I linked to? There is no spring, besides the one in the chain tensioner, and it does very little, since the tensioner is hydraulic. But poor oil changes will cause the tensioner to seize/gum up, and malfunction, which means, no tension on the chain.

@@ThePerfectionOfLexus 🙄1. I’ve watched Timm’s video years prior 2. Yes guide tensioners oil ports provides force on the guide, but the spring is the critical force as anyone who has replaced one can tell you. The spring literally collapses on the guide side. If you have not replaced your guide tensioner you’ll discover their importance soon enough.
