BMW X4 (F26) OIL CHANGE and SERVICE LIGHT RESET (X3 F25)

I just changed the oil on my wife's 2017 BMW X4 M40i F26 and made a DIY video of it. At the end I also show you how to reset the service indicator.

As a heads up, should be 0W-30 for the X4 M40i, it has it on the hood. Driving it in a colder climate might give some potential engine wear.

What year is your X4? I have a 2020 X3M with the S58 engine and I'm having a hell of a time finding a code reader that has the battery registration feature on it for this vehicle.

2017. You shouldn’t need one for a 2020, it’s under warranty so make the dealer do it. Or is there not a dealer near you?

So you tell me how to verify that drain plug is 17mm before I get down on the ground and under the car, but you completely neglected to tell me to take an 8mm socket with me under the car to remove the "little tiny panel" that is covering the access to said 17mm drain plug...

+Levi Akers you don’t even have a BMW, quit your whining with your Lexus driving self. 😂 The funny thing is I recorded saying to bring an 8 mm because I thought you had to remove that big panel and after removing it realized you didn’t. I didn’t know the access panel was there, and I ended up cutting out the part where I mentioned the 8 mm

I think it is so stupid BMW not having a dip stick, Mercedes does and I would class that as a more luxury brand, BMW has had a lot of issues with oil level sensors going wrong or not reading correctly, all because they couldn't be arsed to add a $5 part..
