Yeah, "Off road" X5 has a locking central differential. Real off-roaders do not even have a central differential, they have a transfer case and locking differentials on each axle. X5 is simply a very good SUV, the problem is SUV are not off-roaders, only bigger cars

Julien Franc The X5 does have a transfer case and it’s not center locking, it’s a rear locking diff. And 10.3 inches of ground Clarence isn’t just a bigger car. The X5 is actually good off-road even though these videos don’t really show its good side. You have to get the correct specification in order to show its true capabilities.

@@aidenp5768 Good to hear it has a transfer case. Rear locking diff is a good thing, but on the front? Low range gears? 10.3 inches is ok. Good for mild to medium off roading, but i wouldn't want find myself in one of these on a hard trail

Julien Franc The only problem I see the X5 facing is the front of the car, the front is high off the ground but the approach angle isn’t that great, the M sport X5s should be completely out of the question if it can go off-road, those X5s aren’t suitable. But Xline X5s with the fully equipped off-road packages are a great vehicle for off-road. Previous X5 generations were ok off-road but the new G05 is a step up.

Неспособный не автомобиль, а водитель. А так машина едет не хуже внедорожников по части работы полного привода (в т.ч. Jimny), но водитель зачем-то сознательно сбрасывает газ когда машина начинает перекидывать момент. Видимо, далек от понимания работы современных систем полного привода. К слову, машина без пневмы, клиренс поэтому не столь высок, как мог бы.

Даже спорить с вами не буду так как ( видно в других видео) привык немного к другим машинам.... и если бы вы посмотрели до конца, то там я откровенно признаюсь что впервые сел за руль подобной техники. А настоящий оффроад немного отличается от возможностей это машины.... ее для другого строили.

It's simply an AWD SUV, meaning that it doesn't have a transfer case but a central differential, you cannot lock the differentials, it doesn't have low gears, it doesn't have much ground clearance and, finally, it has way too soft suspensions. That's why it had such a hard time on a trail a real off-roader would have easily dealt with.

You don't know how to operate the Xdrive system, you HAVE to keep going for the Xdrive to properly transfer power to the proper wheels.

Желаю всем иметь возможность , как автор , покупать такие крутые Авто , но так же , желаю ознакомиться с философией данного спортивно- премиального автомобиля ! На подъёме , не Двигатель теряет обороты, а нужно нажать на волшебную кнопку DTS (1 раз) и о чудо .... машина едет !

Ahahaha it's not very rough terrain, it's an easy trail that any real off road vehicle can deal with very very easily, it's really not even close to what a real off-roader can do. Look up some Land Cruiser/Wrangler and the like videos on you'll see the difference

Firstly this car is not crossover it's SAV - Sports Activity Vehicle Secondly BMW doesn't marketed this car as an SUV nor it capabilities yet they offer off-road package for better ground clearance etc which is absent in test vehicle Lastly u can't drive an 4x4 driving skill needed for any off-road vehicle it's not flooring the gas pedal ! Я конечно всё понимаю.что эта машина для города, но какого хрена она такая дорогая??? Для города тогда достаточно седана полноприводной с возможностью увеличивать клиренс. Нет же маркетинг наше всё, а пипл хавает, большая,быстрая,крутая, «внедорожник»

SKYFALL This isn’t even the off-road version, this is standard, the off road pack has more ground clearance than a Land Cruiser, 8.9 on a Land Cruiser vs 10.3 on a X5. It’s capable depending on if you have that pack or not.
