You have trapped air. Bleed starting at the master cylinder, then follow the sequence around the vehicle, starting with the furthest away wheel end and finishing with the closest, also do not forget to use a scan tool and cycle the ABS. You can buy a cheap pressure bleeder and get a helper, stay focused, be the trapped air, where would you be? Entrain it in the flow to remove it from the system, you can do it! OK, suggestions, unless you are willing to remove the vacuum line to the booster and the rubber seal so you can get a boroscope with right angle view in that hole to confirm that you have aligned the booster rod with the master cylinder piston doing it this way, then I would remove the fresh air intake and the section of plastic firewall in front of the master cylinder which also has the wiper motor bracket attachment. The rear bolts for this plastic piece are not too hard to access once you remove the fresh air intake box. Yes, this takes a little extra time but it give you direct frontal access to remove and install the master cyl correctly aligned with the rod. I ensure the booster has no vacuum to do this. I also run the driver seat back fully and use a piece of 2x3 or such between the seat and the brake pedal to partially press the pedal so the booster rod comes out a little further and is much easier to line up in the master cyl piston rod. DO NOT fully depress the brake pedal for this, halfway will be fine. Shame about the rest of the procedure not being mentioned (ABS bleeding with the Diagnostic tablet etc).

Job was successful. Separate video to come on the ABS, length of the video is always a concern there is only so much you can cram, but thanks for watching and providing some tips which may help others.

It is a tremendously good idea to bench, bleed the master cylinder before installation, this will ensure that the seals inside never run dry and 98% of the air is removed from the master cylinder, I suspect you may be installing the master cylinder dry, and then just trying to bleed all the way at the back, you can also try, just loosening the lines at the master cylinder and using them as a bleeder screw. So pumped the pedal a few times, loosen the line when the foot goes to the floor, hold it there, tighten back up the fittings slightly, then let off the pedal, and this way you will use the loosening and tightening of the fitting, much like a one-way check valve, allowing the air to be purged from the master cylinder. If you have bench bled your master cylinder, another suggestion is to put a vacuum, bleeder, active rear, brake, calipers, and a pressure, bleed assist device on the master cylinder, do not over pressurize be patient, once primed, it will flow, and it entrain trapped air , but you will have to bleed quite a bit of fluid to get it right, additionally, you could use a scan tool to run the ABS valves and pump to ensure you have cleared the entire system not only of old fluid, but also of any trapped air I hope you find this helpful. Sorry for any lack of punctuation or spelling errors. I did this with voice to text, thank you for watching. I hope you like and subscribe and I hope this solves your issue, if it does not message me again let’s get it figured out.

Can you show how to do the abs bleeding procedure on the scan tool please?
@MechaniclifeJDM
@MechaniclifeJDM 2 жыл бұрын
It will vary based on the scan tool you are using, mine is an Autel Maxi scan. It really is simple, just enter the ABS/DSC portion of the menus and look for active tests, you will find options either for bleeding or for pump and solenoid activations. If this advice is not sufficient I will post a short showing the activity just for you! Thanks for watching, drop a like and consider subscribing!

Use a mirror, a light and some small tools to get it back in the center be careful not to damage the brake booster there is a ribber diaphragm inside, there is a star shaped spring washer which helps hold it that needs to be in place, you can also try disconnecting the linkage at the pedal to finagle it a bit to help with repositioning the push-rod, worst case you may need to remove the brake booster, so sorry that happened, let me know if I can help further, and how you solve it, as it may help others, thanks for watching, consider subscribing.

@@MechaniclifeJDM Hello, my question is about the star shaped washer that helping to hold the rod in place, which way the points should face towards brake cylinder or towards brake pedal?
