Complete filter service on the E70 BMW X5 3.0 Diesel engine code 306D5
Model years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Oil capacity: 7.5 litres
Sump plug: 17mm
Oil ratings: 0w30, 5w30 or 5w40 fully synthetic and rated to BMW LL04.
Oil filter: Bosch P9252 / 1457429252 (Mann HU721/4x, Mahle OX177/3D ECO, Purflux L369)
Air filter: Bosch S0410 / F026400410 (Mann C33001, Mahle LX2641, Purflux A1496)
Fuel filter: Bosch N6457 / 0450906457 (Mann WK5001, Mahle KL169/3D, Purflux FCS724)
Cabin filter: Blue Print ADB112501 (BMW 64119248294)

Nice video with good information. One question though, why installing a clean oil filter in dirty oil prior to draining the dirty oil?🤔 First drain oil, exchange filter and fill with fresh oil. 😉

Brilliant video,just did a service on my x5 i found the oil filter housing was in fact a 36 mm,not 32mm i purchased a 32 mm after going on line ,why mine is different I don't know

Great stuff as always. How are these M57’s in terms of reliability? I know some suffered from problems with swirl flaps.

Cheers Gentil, swirl flaps and cracked intake manifolds I think are the only ones I’ve seen personally. Things that I’d expect to fail such as the auto gearbox and key fob I’ve never seen any issues with. I haven’t owned a 3.0 diesel by BMW yet though.

Great job! Question , if the air filter hasn't been replaced in a while, will it cause the car not to run properly?

If the condition of the air filter is bad it definitely wouldn’t aid the car running properly. If you’re unsure it’s best to change it.
