I can't seem to find anything but do the RB20DET and RB20E share the same intake ports? I'm aware they're both RB20s but I have my suspicions and wouldn't want to start investing in parts before knowing entirely what I'm getting into
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
I would bet 100% that they're the same head and the exact same bolt patterns. As long as they're both DOHC. You could test that by trying to order an intake manifold gasket and returning it if it doesn't fit.
@Doitlike_JC4 жыл бұрын
Another question, how did you run your coolant lines? I know one line goes to the block but what about the line that goes into the stock manifold? Where did you tap into?
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
So I have an oil relocation kit and that eliminated some coolant lines so basically I just have one coolant line going to the firewall and the other that comes out of the firewall leads to one of the ports already on the engine. If you'd like, check out my Instagram I have a billion pics of the setup @00fcuk
@Doitlike_JC4 жыл бұрын
B McGuinness Okay I see now, so just the heater core lines and what about the turbo coolant lines? I know the fees is from the block but where do you put the turbo coolant return? I’ll definitely check out your Instagram thanks 👍
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
@@Doitlike_JC Yep you got it. So I'm actually not using any turbo coolant lines but if I rebuild anything else I probably will install some. There's a port on the intake side of the block for feed in and a port under the exhaust manifold for feed out, it's the drain technically. Awesome 👍

what did you do for the throttle cable? the one I had in the car originally doesn't reach, i got an S14 cable (supposed to be longer) but from the L bracket the cable doesnt go far enough to actually connect to the throttle body... im at a loss, it looks like our l bracket to throttle body spacing is the same...

Just purchased an RB25 for my Datsun and looked at these intakes! Do you have any images of it all installed? The angled bracket is to hold the water line collector with the temp sensor in (if that's what you want to call it) it should bolt on near the throttle body. I haven't received my motor yet, but do you have any pics of it all installed? I'm guessing the old OEM intake had a radiator hose connection cast into it and the top hose now just goes onto that collector instead? Thanks for the review! Appreciate it.
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you liked the review! All the water lines on the rb can basically be re-done. I only ran the 2 main lines into the firewall for heat and the 2 main lines to the radiator. The adapter that comes with the kit actually comes with 2 ports for the coolant temp in it which are the same oem thread. But yeah if you'd like to see more in depth pictures check out my page @ 00fcuk on Instagram.

Thank you for this video. I'm from Germany and am building the same intake manifold on my RB25DET. However, one question remains for me: where do I have to connect the connections shown in 2:04 ? I would be very grateful for a short explanation!
@BMcGuinness6 ай бұрын
Thanks I'm glad it's useful! Those are the vacuum connections for everything on the motor, for everything. Mine is hooked up for brake booster, fuel pressure regulator, ecu, and turbo wastegate. You can use a tee on the less sensitive lines like wastegate and brake booster if you need extra sources 👍🏼 Good luck with the build!

How did you end up routing the IACV? One to the cold pipe or the other to the manifold? Great work btw big help!!
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! So there are a couple types of the IACV's but they work the same. I blocked off the small port and routed the large end to the intake piping BEFORE throttle body. This will let the car get air for idle and engine loads when the throttle is closed

What is the difference between the intake manifold of the RB25 and RB20 engine? Can I install the intake manifold RB25 to RB20
@whathecheese4 жыл бұрын
Great vid man!!!...im looking at buyin the sharp custom performance one...is there any difference with these cuz they all look the same (isr, sc performance, otaku) and how reliable u think they are...how much power/psi u think i can get before running into problems??
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! Nice I haven't heard of sharp but I've seen these manifolds with all sorts of logos including blank. The hardware is the only difference and not by much. As far as reliability goes, I don't have any issues or leaks besides the fact that it's light aluminum so you should seal all the water ports well
@BMcGuinness4 жыл бұрын
The psi shouldn't be an issue at all because it's all sturdy but typically on stock internals 18psi rb20 and the same on rb25 to make sure you don't break the pistons or rods
@whathecheese4 жыл бұрын
The reason i asked on the psi was that im planning on buildin my engine and goin up in power but thanks again cuz vids like these really help when its easy to find reviews on the big name brands....keep it up bro

Hey sorry for the late response! Didn't realize this had so many comments. I used an oem gasket with ARP studs and making 500whp currently on 20 psi. Most of the power after the manifold depends on head flow

wat brnd of injectors r those?, nd can i put'em on a stock rb25det?
@BMcGuinness Жыл бұрын
Stock injectors are side mount, plus bigger isn't better on a stock setup because the fuel trims will be off. The ecu is preset to have the Injectors open in milliseconds at a time. Bigger injectors make more fuel go thru in those few milliseconds
