at about 5 minutes into the video, when you were stopped at Collier, did you guys ever use that industry track to pick up cars or did you guys just stop there to let other trains pass? or was that industry track abandoned after the Santa Fe was merged?

The Collier coke (fuel for making steel) plant was a major customer of that roadswitcher. It involved a lot of covered hopper switching. At one time (until just after World War II, I believe), the track linking Collier (Luzon) siding to the now Collier lead was used to load livestock and is still called the "corral track".

so do you recored these all in one day. and why did it look like you were on the roof of the locomotive wen you recorded the amtraks

This job had a lot of "hurry up and wait". So I started carrying a little point & shoot with me. These shots are from a span of little over 2 years. I frequently had to climb up on the short hood to clean bird exhaust off of the windshield; I got a few shots while I was up there. Thanks for the comment.

No. This post (and only this post) is a compilation of clips that I accumulated from times when I was able to hold the engineer's spot on the Richmond roadswitcher job. The other posts of Richmond Yard and Warm Springs were a compilation of accumulated clips from when I worked those jobs before a vacation or to take a break from the road. I only used that camera for about 2 1/2 yrs. before it went kaput..
