Hello! I was planning to chase the WNYP some day soon, and I found your videos. They are very well done and informative. Thank you for sharing the. I do have two questions: approximately what time in the morning do the trains get assembled in the yard? And is a scanner effective for trains in the mountains of Pennsylvania, or do you rely on other information to find the trains?

Hi Paige! Thanks for checking out the videos! I really appreciate it. From my experience, the trains get assembled in the yard pretty early in the morning, perhaps between 6 and 8AM. They also do not run every day. A scanner is very effective at following the trains on this line. It came in handy greatly on my first visit when I happened to stumble across a train after hearing them working over the scanner. If you have a Facebook, I would recommend seeing if there are any groups that cover the WNYP (I'm not aware of any, but it couldn't hurt to check). Hope this is helpful!

Once a double track line, now they use the remaining portions just for storage.
