I think the “OMG Did I just fuck a Minecraft pineapple?” Thing is in a way showing that even though most people try to act like they are better than their past self saying how their embarrassed of their old material, they are doing arguably more embarrassing things now

I would not say that the "OMG Did I just fuck a Minecraft pineapple" Video would be more embarrassing than what Bo is saying he is emarressed by. Some of his old content has not aged well and Bo has openly apologied for that. I think it is just purely a joke about how ridiculous the thumbnails on youtube have become.

What Chris said about this part made me think about it also in terms of a commentary on advertising. That one in particular is so jarring, and that’s how ads often are - it sucks when they interrupt the moment when a piece is getting intense. Always so many layers to Bo’s work!

Something funny he did with the mental health awareness "ad" was it said 'laceless shoes 60% off!' This is a joke specifically referring to how you can't have shoelaces inside of mental health institutions or inpatient treatment facilities because they are a hazard. There is a chance this could be coincidental, but knowing bo, I'm gonna say it's intentional. I laughed so hard when I saw that.

I think all of the ads and stuff is commentary on the fact that absolutely every single thing has advertising in it and he really hates it. I’m not always the best at articulating my interpretation of things. But basically in this special he repeatedly talks about how we let the internet and technology so deep into our lives and these things literally change our brain chemistry and the way we react to things and the things we do in the real world. Advertising is similar, we’re inundated with advertising and product placement constantly, fueling our insane consumerism and dependence on these giga corporations who control so many aspects of our lives without us even being entirely conscious of it.

In addition to what other people have said, I think one way to think about the ads (other than their obvious comedic value) is as a visual representation of "a little bit of everything all of the time." The crazy randomness of the internet. As he's trying to bare his soul, some ridiculous clickbait is distracting the viewer. I kid you not, as you were making a serious point in this video, I suddenly got a peppy, upbeat ad for almond milk and was like, "case in point." As for why he never used any drone footage, one possible reason is that having the camera be stationary throughout the entire special makes the moment when he picks it up and starts swinging it around in AEOM more jarring and chaotic. It may not have been as impactful if we'd subconsciously gotten used to a lot of camera movement throughout the special. ...at least that's my 2 cents.

1. I think every time he heard a helicopter or plane, he looked outside through the blinds to get a shot of it, but it never came into view. That's why he was upset lol ... Probably a shot he wanted to make himself feel more isolated as a transition into something else. That's what I was thinking at least since he references it 2-3 times in the outtakes. 2. He could have just set a projector outside the building so nothing was seen with the fire on the window cover maybe?

In a previous video you said you will watch other people when you're done with Bo's outtakes, but I strongly recommend reacting to some of Bo's other older songs. Many come to mind like "Art is dead", "Words words words" and so many more. In case you really want to check out some other people, I'd recommend Tim Minchin. Many of his older songs are in the same style as Bo's, but his later work isn't as focused on comedy. Some of my favourites are "Prejudice", "Dark Side (epic version)" and "Confessions" (all of these are comedic), but I could make a whole list of them all.

I think the fake ads are mostly a commentary on how you can't enjoy anything in a vacuum. The content you watch doesn't just exist as content, but as a way to get you to buy things and watch OTHER content, constant distractions that don't care about what is happening on screen.
