The lake on the map to the left of Fort William Henry is Great Sacandaga Lake and was not created until a dam was built in the early 20th century.

To get into the feel for 1754 - Conquest: The French and Indian War, watch Frontier on Netflix. Based on the struggles in Canada in the 1700's between the Hudson's Bay Company, French fur trade outfits and the new upstart Americans. I binge watched the 6 episodes of the 1st season in 3 nights!!! :)

Thanks to you! Which of the three Birth of America series do you think is the best, if any? Or maybe the funniest?

I like 1775 the best but 1754 has some nice little twists

Thanks for this. Your passion is awesome. I really wanted to know about the system because I'm keen to pick up Vikings. You've pretty much convinced me that I want this!

When 1812 appeared i thought it would be just a one off, now this is turning into a real legit system, like you said: "easy, unique and visual" ! thanks for the review.

I agree. I think its a great way to get younger players into war games as well

Thanks for doing more than an unboxing video. I am not a fan of those. However, this review was fun to see. I can live vicariously through you until my copy arrives.

Thank you. I love unboxing it on video. It's like my own shared little mini-Christmas. I know some people don't like unboxings.

loved watching your review and enthusiasm for this game. thank you! i was on the fence between 1754 and 1775, most reviews favor the latter (more simple and clean, area control mechanic, and the American Revolution Theme) but after watching your review it tipped me over to 1754: i really like the activity of the Natives in this particular war and how they pop into play (in 1775 they're very far removed). i really like the artwork and native illustrations on the map, i like the blocking defensive forts, i like being able to move around the board with the sea harbors, i like the changing of the muster areas AND it has a Native expansion... it just seems there's much more replayability and variety compared to 1775. (from my ignorant perspective it seems EVERY game of 1775 hovers around Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Mass.... being land locked... le sigh.) hopefully the more people sink their teeth into 1754 the more it can share the spotlight with 1775. cheers and thanks for the vid!

The system is great and with the future Vikings game under pretty much the same system more goodness is yet to come.

I get the impression you like this game... If you would rank the 3 in the system what would they be?

I think I still like 1775 a little better (I need to get it back on the table). This one will have my attention in the short time however. Really having fun with it.

Seems more intuitive to call the rounds "turns" and the turns "rounds". Example 5 rounds per turn.
@BondingWithBoardGamesRPGs7 жыл бұрын
A lot of terms go back and fourth. I always look at a turn as each individuals turn...so in a four player game everyone takes their turn one at a time, which then completes a round and a game may end after 6 rounds. But the terms shift from game to game.

You confused me with the forts (to be fair so did the rule book): Are the fort symbols already on the map in French and British territory actual forts? Or just places a Fort can be built?

Whew...I don't think I've played in a year or two...I too would need to go look it up.

I’ve got all of them! Got the Vikings too. Love them all. My older son(10 yrs) loves playing the French in 1754. He’s beaten me...made the America’s French.

Great comment rokassan. Awesome! I adore my game time with my son...who is almost 11 now.
