Agreed! But if I were to pick one box, I would have chosen The New Age. They've made a new mode that makes the game even better!

A friend got this for Christmas- loved it. They apparently didn't read the instructions very well, because we've been shuffling player decks the whole time; should be cool to try it with that element of planning added in.

I've been Kickstarting Aeon's End and its expansions + Adventure campaigns since the beginning. I've gotten tons of game time out of it and have been able to show it to so many people. The worst part is having to re-teach this game over and over. I may have to use the first half of this video as an introduction to future players. It goes over things pretty dang well. I cannot recommend this game enough to people. It has so much variety and the bosses are fucking HARD. Can't wait for more in the new kickstarter thats up!

I love this game! I own all the big boxes. It's best with 2, but pretty good with 4 as well. One of the best 2 player co-op games.

Mage Knight is a co-op deckbuilder as well. Best with 1 or 2 players though, and just be aware Mage Knight is very complex. Totally fun though.
@BeingFriends4 жыл бұрын
Yiroep4 Yes. Aeons end is sooo good! I love it so much. And Mage Knight is my #1 game of all time. Note that it’s much less of a deck building game than aeons end! Deck building is just an element of the game. And also it can be played competitive, solo, and cooperative, depending on the scenario and what you want to do. But both games are insanely good.
@earthbind83 Жыл бұрын
Harry Potter Battle of Hogwarts is another coop deckbuilder, but a lot easier than Aeon's End, so it's a nice relaxing game for the more casual gamers. Gloomhaven is another one, but that one has way too much stuff written on the players' cards. But I love the concept that your time is limited by your deck size getting smaller and smaller until you can't do anything anymore.

So you inspired me to get this game Now I need the good stuff: What other expansions do you recommend???
@ProZD4 жыл бұрын
if you're like me, who's obsessed, you'll get everything. but otherwise, i just played one of the new big box sets, The New Age, which adds a really fun expedition system that can let you make mini-campaigns where between encounters, you get treasure upgrades for your characters. Aeon's End: Legacy is also a really fun full campaign with permanent upgrading of your characters
@TenseiDragon4 жыл бұрын
I'll follow that up. As someone who has ONLY played The New Age, it is a good game to either start with or as your first expansion. Expeditions do make it feel like you are progressing, and you can implement it into any version of the game. It also has a wide variety of mechanics among the gems/spells/relics, as well as the player characters and nemeses.

@@ProZD I got everything as well, and since Legacy has markers you glue on cards of that set I instead scanned and printed all of those components so that I could play it more than once without buying a reset pack, and I sleeved all the cards so I could put the markers inside the sleeves. It was quite the effort, but worth it. I also decided to replace Legacy's four nameless breach mages with pictures of characters from other franchises like Darkwing Duck, Korra or Kungfu Panda just for the lolz. You gotta try playing that campaign with Bradicus and Chadicus once. ;-)

Thanks for doing this review! Love to hear that you enjoy the game as much as I do! I think it's noticeable that the author must know a thing or two about balancing due to him being the former Starcraft 2 pro gamer "qxc" (not to be confused with xQc who is known for scandals). 6:25 I see you eventually noticed that Mist's breaches 3 and 4 were in the wrong order, and it's interesting to see them going back and forth afterwards due to the cutting. XD 17:04 Ulgimor is not the one looking distressed here. ;-) Ulgimor is the purple shadow beast in the background. The fat dude is named Ohat and he's a coward who is at the frontlines against his will because his shadow came alive and insists on fighting for Gravehold. Also his healing charge ability makes more sense when you also know his signature card where he gains 3 Aether, a charge and suffers 2 damage everytime he plays it, so Ulgimor is basically sucking the life out of Ohat and then later dumps it back on him, rinse and repeat. It's super useful because he has a much easier time getting hands with more than 5 Aether than most other mages. I generally wish ProZD had shown all the signature cards and not just the charge abilities. Especially Mazahaetron who can buy cards to give to other players. 17:35 Quilius is a she and she has TWO cards that let you get trophy tokens. Also if you want to see her full potential, check this 7 second video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHeolp2rp6ebhbM (or go to the official Discord to find out how to balance her)
