I don't know how aggressive you (whoever is reading this) board but that screw that holds together the toe strap can and will come out if you're riding really rough terrain. I was riding in the woods with a buddy and at the of the run I noticed that the toe strap was separated. So now the toe strap is useless now due to the fact that the screw is missing.

Its awesome how much bang for buck you get with these lower priced bindings. Burton is the same when looking at the clutches. Though im curious how you go with the toe straps and boot wear. That has been a sore point that has stopped me grabbing some unions in the past.
@TommyBoy27993 жыл бұрын
These aren’t different, toe straps fell off pretty quickly and I ended up losing one a week after tightening, recommend using lock tight to reinforce if you do get these

Never had a problem with my v1 flight pros besides base cushion screw but straps and all that are 100% Gucci coming from a rough rider mine are on there 5 season and chillin. Will say boot wear on the v1s is definitely more profound but seen the near straps and they don’t seem to destroy ur boots

Do you know of any low profile boots and bindings (not too thick sole and bottom) that sit fairly close to the board? I used to have Ride bindings aluminum and they had no thick cushion just aluminum base and 1mm pads they felt great. Low center of Gravity.

hey TJ, I have a question about Union bindings in general. I have been reading online about the contact pros. Some reviewers were saying the screws in the base plate come loose after 2-3 hours on the hill. Do you think this is true? Is this a problem with all bindings, or are unions more prone to this? My problem with my current bindings (old pair of Salomon the boss LRG) is that they come loose after a few hours. I would not want to invest in a union binding if this will be a recurring problem. Thanks
@will213 жыл бұрын
Try some tread lock. Screws are pretty much all the same, mostly stainless Hardwear and it screws into the board threaded inserts or Burton channel.. so not much to actually do with. The binding it would only touch the baseplate. Biggest issue would be how it screws into the inserts, is there enough thread in, do you need a longer bolt etc. Some blue thread lock may solve the issue. Don't use too much tho just a dab

Hi, I’m 42 yo, intermediate rider looking to buy my first board. I just bought the burton StepOn boots & bindings. I mainly ride groomers and trees a little bit. I hit some side jumps but almost never go to the park or ride switch. I’m trying to decide between Jones Frontier, Jones MT, Salomon DH, Yes Y, Yes Typo. What would you recommend?

I'd go with Salomon, frontier is too stiff and mountain twin is better for park.

@mjlr57342 жыл бұрын
Could you please explain what you mean by grow out of them? I don't get what makes a binding for a beginner vs advanced
@RobGams2 жыл бұрын
@@mjlr5734 Beginner bindings are usually softer or can be softer and makes turning easier and are more forgiving if you make mistakes. But it’s also a preference. There are advanced riders that prefer soft bindings so they can tweak more for tricks and grabs. I personally consider these bindings entry level or beginner, but then you can move on to ones that are stiffer and more precise. Hopefully that makes sense.

I had a set of 2018 Flite Pros that I bought second hand just to get into the union line up and they completely turned me off to union as a whole. Granted they are entry level bindings, but they had no support, the highbacks were as soft as baby s**t, the ankle strap bolt would frequently loosen itself, as would other screws, and not because I didn't tighten them properly, this was a recurring thing like every time I rode. Last season I switched to Rome Katanas because of the adjustability and tech they offer. So far its night and day difference from the unions. I would steer clear of these even if you're entry level, step up and pay an extra 50-100 bucks for a proper set of bindings that will last.
