thank you for the detailed explanation. Good rating system! I like his game a lot, I own it. I was very excited about the expansion, but the need for keeping two boxes, and the expanded duration make me doubt about it.

I'm behind the times; my copy of The White Castle is en route to me now! So I have plenty of time before I'll need an expansion, but I appreciate knowing that it's a "should get." Have fun in Essen!

The expansion gives you room for some of the base components, which fixes that puzzle problem. The extra options make the game more fun, less demanding, but very crunchy.

The main question should be, "Does it fix the terrible solo mode?" If they've improved that, I will definitely get it 😊

There is a fan made solo mode version that works great on BGG for the base game.

This is one of the few times when "more stuff" doesn't really appeal, since the base game is fun because it's streamlined and doubling the shelf spice required for a "maybe occasionally" expansion doesn't seem worth it. thanks for the video!

i feel like the whole appeal and awesomeness of the game is the tightness, the small board, the 9 actions. that's the whole appeal. adding more stuff seems like its just making it more like every other euro out there. Seems against the original ethos of the game
