@@Eldons_Excursions Thought I would do a quick follow-up of my own. Just finished my cruise on the Discovery Princess yesterday--California Coastal. The first sea day was cool but prior to the departure (3 days) then for the rest of the cruise the weather was beautiful. I got so much walking in, ate too much, kept my phone in airplane mode until I got back to Canada and am well rested. When I log into work on Tuesday that may change after ten mins, lol, but it was a great vacation:)

I still prefer the Crown or Crown-class ships as they have the REAL promenade deck where I could walk round and round for an hour before meals. Royal-class or the newest Sphere-class (Sun and Star) don’t have promenade deck anymore unfortunately.

Im sorry the speciality restaurants were all sold out. I was surprised our last cruise. I dont usually like to book that far in advance but will next time. Maybe you can get specialty restaurant offerings in the MDR (know they do it for steakhouse) at no cost? Hope so!

Yes, arriving after noon time you avoid traffic from all the Early Birds arriving and Passengers disembarking. Just get there before 2pm …Room deck hall carpets: it looked like one side ( uneven?) had the loopy design outlined in a dark blue? color and the even numbered side carpet design had yellow outline on its design???

@mcgovernsandra Thank you! I drove my personal car to the port. The shuttle that drove by was the port shuttle. They'll pick you up in the lot and bring you to the check-in area.

@@Eldons_Excursions You know what you could do to get some meals out of your Speciality dining is to order from the app. You can order some things from Crown or Sabatini’s through the Ocean Now app. I have seen others order the Steak or Lasagna etc and get it delivered to wherever you are. Might not be full menu but something.

Is the muster easy to do? Do you do the muster in a certain location? My husband and I booked dinner at the Crown Grill for our 2025 cruise. Do they have one on that ship and if so are you going to try it? Have fun! Lucky duck!

@fw7993 yeah, the muster is really easy. I forgot to mention that important part in the video 😅 They'll have different muster stations to scan your medallion. On your app, it should say what muster station you're at. Once you scan in, you have to watch a safety video (5 min) and then you're set to cruise!

@BigAlFishingAddiction on this trip, I didn't go on any excursions, but I will say Puerto Vallarta was my favorite of the 3 stops. Check out my video on that stop. They have a really cool spot you can check out where the predator was filmed!

The Packages absolutely do not depend on whether you drink coffees, soft drinks, and cocktails. Your gratuities are paid, your Wifi is Paid. Those are two big things right there. You only have to have a few dinners, premium desserts, soft drinks, and/OR beverages to make up the difference. Princess has good deals on its packages at this time.

@@cubeweaver ..FYI..48 total cruises on NCL, Princess, RCI, Disney, Celebrity, HAL, & Carnival...when you have cruised so many times on so many cruise lines/ ships, you notice differences right away in the cabin, dining, entertainment, bars & lounges, service, and overall ship design & layout...as a now retired cruise agent, one of my jobs was to cruise as many cruise lines & ships as possible to be able to tell clients all the differences between ships..we are Diamond Plus on RCI, Platinum on Princess, Gold on NCL, etc....FYI...Do you know that Disney has 2 bathrooms in every cabin? Pretty good idea since so many kids & young families go on Disney & an extra bathroom area makes getting ready to go easier & quicker...

@ Anyone can claim having reached top tiers on each cruise lines by googled those first. What he had was just basic balcony, not even premium balcony, let alone mini suite. It was free offer from Princess. Apparently you haven’t cruised Princess a lot and have never been on the Sun Princess to make the comparisons. Try the Sun for once to broaden your horizon.
