Thank you very much for your reply , great help Just one more , did you take the cases with you or did you leave them on the bike for the crossings ? Sorry to be a pain lol , I ordered my 1200GS Adventure Olive Matt yesterday

Hey mate, it’s no pain at all. I tend to just take my top box with me so that I have a change of clothes, toiletries, passports, valuables, and anything else I might want for the crossing. Leaving my camping, cooking, tools and other stuff I’m not going to need, locked in my panniers. As long as nothing valuable is on display you can leave anything on the bike really. I even leave my helmet on a foot peg to save carrying it. Apart from crossings a bit further afield, like Spain to Morocco or Greece to Turkey. I’m a little more security savvy in these instances. Very jealous of your new GS. Ride safe

Hello , do they strap it down for you or do you have to ? Did you encounter any damage at all ?

Hello mate, they always strap the bike down for you. They are all slightly different but most of the time it is, in gear, on the side stand with a single strap over the seat. If you’re lucky you get a bit of protection between the strap and your seat. I have done many crossings like this now and never encountered any damage. Ride safe
