@ArrowheadPride4Ever3 жыл бұрын
What many people do not realize here, and what took me another go to see it for myself, was that in Gyp’s sick, twisted, psychopathic state, he genuinely believed that by bludgeoning his cousin to death with a shovel, he was doing Tonino a big favor. Gyp wanted to bury him in the sand like that to be tortured by the tide, the crabs; to die slowly and helplessly. Instead he ‘took pity’ on Tonino and gave him a ‘quicker’ death. Hence the “you owe me” comment afterwards. Seriously one of the best and underrated villains in TV history.

It's only befitting that Tonino ended up being the one who physically killed Gyp in the end. So in a way, what Nucky ordered him to do was just icing on the cake, because I'm sure deep down he wanted to avenge his family but never had the gull to do it until the end. We all expected Nucky to be the one to do it, but it ended up being someone who actually had a personal reason to do so. Very befitting and a good choice on the director and or writer's part.

'Bashed his head' in is an understatement, no? I mean, by the fifth hit, this guy's head gets mostly decapitated, at least from what little I can see. Everybody sees that too right?

He should have gone Defcon 5 right there and right that time, "Scarface", final scene, bazookas under each arm, "say hello to my little friend!" and all the capos would have thank him for it.

I like how the character of gyp is introduced to us wearing nice suits, his attitude and his inferiority complex setting up his struggle to become more then the commoner he was born as, and yet when the character "passes on" he's in popper like attire, out of his mind and left like trash himself on a beach.
