Boat Bimini Top Use - How to Deploy

Logan demonstrates how to deploy and store a bimini top. In addition, he describes the benefits as well as a few helpful tips. In this case, he is on the Bayliner VR4, but the procedure is the same on most bimini tops.

When traveling to the lake do you leave it in the stow away position or take the back braces loose and lay it all the way down

Typically on short trips the stow away position with the bimini top boot on works but just be aware of the height if you have low branches on the drive. Never travel on the road with it open. If you're going on a longer trip some prefer to lay it down. If you do that, be sure to strap it down with some bungie straps or something similar. In addition, put something where the frame lays on the boat so it doesn't scratch the fiberglass or vinyl where the frame is laying.

Hi Duncan I bought a boat with the eyeholes for the bimini cover but no cover . It’s a gap of 20” between the eyeholes and it’s a 2000 bayliner capri can you advise me on what type of cover that is and the specs I would be very greatful 👍🏻

At its age, I would recommend an aftermarket bimini top. Your current mounting hardware should work fine. If you measure between the mounts (should be just behind the windshield) and the distance from the floor to the mounts, we can get you something that should work fine. Measure center of eye to center…for width of boat/ for top Then desire how much you want shaded from the windshield back and order accordingly…it’ll ask for a 3or 4 bow top Pretty sure the 4 bow top will automatically come with back braces then nylon straps for the front
