Thanks for the video. I made a slight modification some people might find useful. I used a heat gun and peices of wood to bend one of the sides in about an 1.5in by 5in in length. This "clean" outside of the board spot is where I drilled spots for a knife, pliers, and quick connect so I can hang the towel I wipe my hands with.

Why did you make it so small? You should have used the old one to cut the sides in the back. A little sanding or a heat gun would have taken all the scratches out of it. Cut little rabbets out of the spare blocks so you have a place to slide your knife into. But make them length wise so the knife slides in and foreward. Make sure you cut a couple half round holes in the bottom of the backboard for drainage. In one of the corners drill two 1/2" holes about 2" apart then cut the middle out so you have a place for pliers or scissors. Looks good though

It's just a demo of what you can do , the video is for ideas not how it had to be done , I'll most likely make another one when my new boat arrives. Thinking of one for the track system

LISTEN TO ME! 1:57, NEVER, EVER cross cut a short width board like that on a table saw. You are asking for trouble, huge possibility of the material binding. Get out the cross cut slider, set your fence 3/4" bigger that your final measurement will be, place a 3/4" spacer board against the fence or bigger. Set that block so that as soon as your material hits the blade it is no longer on the block against the fence, there's a void between the fence and the end of the wood. This way there is absolutely no way that the material can bind between the blade and the fence. Here's your instructional video on what I am talking about. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKu8mJaNf7Ckq7M

@@FishinNStuff I'm retired now, but cut cabinetry parts for close to 35 years. I've seen some ugly stuff. Luckily I have all of my fingers intact. Your channel is awesome. I love your DIY video style. Keep them coming.

Just out of curiosity what screws did you use to mount it to the seat platform? The reason I ask it because they didn't go all of the way through the board. 3/4 inch I'm thinking? I've watched so many of your videos. You are one crafty dude!
@FishinNStuff4 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking they were 3/4 SS. When I use shorter screws I just buy em fatter lol

It needs one more lip 1/2 inch on the front just to keep everything from falling inside the boat.

You could sell those so fast. Especially since you already have the tools. I’ve been looking at those bait boards as a gift for my son. He lives in st Mary’s GA. he fishes around Cumberland Island. Nice job on that board.
