Perfect timing I was just about to email an idea of using the very same rig from shore. I've tried and had many friends use over thought rigs with the same not so good results. Since we've switched back to the slider rig we have gone back to very good catch results. Think about giving the boat rig a try the next time you shore fish.

dear god,that is some smoothie , awesome catch lads , thanks for the really enjoyable video,itching for may now and a good run of smoothies from the shore, the best we had between a few friends , se coast ireland last year , weighed in at just over 12 lbs,hoping to better it this year ,tight lines and thanks again!
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV9 жыл бұрын
Hi james mcmahon glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for the kind comments and for taking the time to post the too! :-) It was an amazing day and thoroughly recommended, helps having a top skipper too. I have landed them from the shore too and we get a fairly decent run of fish to around 8lb, I'm hoping for bigger this year tho and willing to travel up north a little bit (Lincolnshire etc). 12lb from the beach sounds a cracker, I bet that went well and pulled your arm off!!! I'm itching now too, roll on May I say! Haha. Good luck with your fishing and tight lines, let us know how you get on! :-)

Great video cant fault a bit of sea fishing on a boat especially for fish like that. I was out on a boat in Gran Canaria a few weeks ago caught a snapper and a balloon fish. Hooked into what the crew believed was a Stingray and it was like trying to pull up a huge concrete slab, the line snapped in the end and i was knackered! wouldnt mind catching one of those Smooth Hounds, great video lads.
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comments as always, glad you enjoyed the video! The Smoothound are certainly good fun, we'd definitely recommend it! :-) Hope you've been catching a few fish.

Hi, yea i went fishing yesterday at a local fishery on a small one acre lake, caught F1's and mirror carp on the bomb with sweetcorn as bait, had a nice day and i just bought a Preston Onbox five series seatbox so fished with that for the first time. Was nice using it with the accessories that i bought, made my day easier than when i fished before, there were one or two issues but i'll have them ironed out for the future! hope to see more videos from you two and i have more to watch still.

Hi congrats on an awesome vid guys but coming from New Zealand we eat the smooth hound in our fish n chips have you ever tried it cause its an awesome eating fish
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV9 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary B thank you for the kind comments and for taking the time to post them, pretty exciting to hear from you all the way over in New Zealand!!! :-) I have tried eating them before, our fish and chip shops serve them under a different name, it is quite tasty too! No bones either which is nice. However I purely see these as a sporting fish and can't bring myself to despatch such a superb fish... strange I know, but I have a bit of a soft spot for them! Hope your catching a few in New Zealand and nice to hear from you :-) Tight lines, cheers Chris.

Cracks me up, English speech and pronunciation is so proper, that they commonly mis pronounce words from other places, especially when the phonetic pronunciation of it is different then it's spelled. Common problem with the American language, which is why it's pretty hard to learn, the different uses definitions tenses and subject predicates conjunctions and compounds makes it really hard for someone who is not here to learn the different variations and pronunciations and usage. So see people Americans, DO NOT SPEAK English. We speak a dialect at best but in many ways it's a different language, as we use words differently and our structure and rules of application in some is different as well Took a test in high school with one question, what language do you speak? This was English class So answer: English Everyone got it wrong and failed we spent the rest of the term making up the grade for the failed test Really blew the validictorian race and lowered some GPA's but it is what it is
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV7 жыл бұрын
I've never really thought about it that much! Haha.

We speak waffle here! You only have to drive a 20 miles from where you live and speak to someone and you will be faced with trying to translate their accent and slang.
@robertbradford34617 жыл бұрын
chris singleton yes but supposedly we speak the same language. And we really don't, our phonetic pronunciation of words vs your actual pronunciation of the same words. Example. You say, Chinook like chin ook, that's the ways it's spelled We say Chinook like shin ook The way it's pronounced See phonetic vs actual is different making language different as well But we have accents here as well as slang, but our slang words and yours are different as well as meanings. Like, pardon me, when you tell someone to sod off, I know your telling them to fuck off, that's not a term used here because sod is like grass seeded rolls to fix your lawn. You use the word differently and meaning is also different
