Those covers are sometimes hard to make sure that there clicked in correctly! I know I have them on my verado,s have to trim the motors all the way down to get them to snap in properly. But that's one baseball player who has no idea how to trim his boat out properly thing is listing to the right hardcore! Time for trim tab lessons

I used to take a 15 foot Boston Whaler out Barnegat (NJ) inlet in conditions worse than this. I tend to think smaller boats are easier here since they will turn on a dime to ride the waves. No way you can do that with a large boat in a narrow channel.

Homespun in "Double troubl" is an AMAZING boat pilot! On his return trip @8:35, he knew exactly when to ride a wave from behind him (throttles down) or power over the backside of one in front (throttles up) to keep his craft moving perfectly forward through the slop and keeping it high and dry. Even when another larger boat passes him and puts him in their wake (Self-entitled turdburgler). HATS OFF to this man in the Sea Pro!

Another great vid how interesting. My dad used to be a boat dealer here in the uk. Only small stuff but he really was at one with the sea. We used to wave ride and fish at the same time in swells like this great fun. Christchurch ledge Mudeford dorset is the place. Tidal flow and a long ledge of rock used to boil the sea. @@WavyBoats yes looks like "shaved" close call BUT I have similar boat in 19ft strapped with 115 hp outboard "Yammy" (2003) yet living in the North East. Haven't used in the Salt yet but learning how to "navigate" it in the Salt as it's a whole different ball game from freshwater. Otherwise he (Sea Pro) did "average" for that vessel's size. P.s. I'm not sure if it's the original Sea Pro or the new company which bears the same name as mine is the original. AND keep those good footage going it's an "educational tool.!!"

@mike force 9/10 times it's the guy with a reasonably priced older boat that has more fun, less to prove and the necessary skill to operate safely on the water. Don't believe me, hang out at the boat ramp and watch the six figure semen that have a tough time even backing their shit down the ramp, nonetheless getting it off the trailer. Common sense is one of those things that can't be bought.

Marc M ... yeh sink, when the wave behind you pushes you forward you can loose control and the bow can veer port/starboard , if extreme the boat can continue turning side on to that wave, the wave then rolls the boat. It’s called breaching...the safest position is on the back of the wave travelling at the same speed

@@bushape2591 once took the National Motor Life Boat School guys out in a 8 foot breaking bar at Ocracoke inlet (in NC) they were freaking out about the short wave period, said "how the (expletive deleted) do you do anything in this!" I'd take a big breaking bar with a long wave period over a nasty 6 foot chop as far as ease of handling any day... The irregularity of it can bite you in the backside if you don't pay attention. (Oh, and "Oregon inlet is on the east coast... Outer Banks of NC)

I was never interested in the ocean until now, very strange. I can see to be skilled at piloting a boat you have to understand that the ocean is a puzzle that you have to read and solve. Very interesting.

My first deep sea fishing trips went through that inlet. 4 of them. 8 trips through the inlet. My driver was a pro. Zero problems. We live here but we’re not avid boaters either. My buddy and I caught a local record, at least at his club, Wahoo on 12 lb test. Was bigger than me and the best eating fish I’ve ever had. After we caught it, we hauled ass back to the cut before it could diminish and get back to get it weighed and counted. After we went out initially we bait-fished for awhile. I caught a bunch of baitfish while puking before we went out deeper and caught a nice pair of kingfish, bonita and the wahoo.

Very cool. I am no boat driver but it seems like skilled drivers go through very nice and others don't have a clue so they apply too much power. The twin hulls seem better that the "V" hulls.

I've boated my entire life and have driven, and owned everything from a '20 Mastercraft to a '38 Formula and can honestly say, I've never seen so much stupidity when it comes to handling this waterway. Truly epic.
