When cutting onions breathe through your mouth from the first cut to the last. Takes a bit of practice as you tend to automatically breathe through your nose but as soon as you tear up you will go damn it I forgot. Trust me it works well as I have cooked commercially and have cut a lot of onions. No need for goggles or bowls of water but they are both still good ideas.

Riley, you're looking for the leak literally the wrong way, backwards. Close up the boat, all vents & fittings. Use cardboard to block off one porthole or hatch, and put the exhaust of a shopvac into that. (Borrow, tie up ashore whatever.) As you run the shopvac it pressurizes the hull. Now you slop soapy water on deck, starting at the bows. Where the leak is in the hull, you will see it blowing soap bubbles! Guaranteed to find all leaks without tearing apart the interior. Just beware, soapy decks are slippery.

I love the moment at 6:41 where Lenny is kicking back in the bottom of the dingy on his way to town. What a wonderful little man. As to the small leaks, I wouldn't think you would find them by merely pouring water on the outside. You have to approach the boat like a storm does, from every direction and with serious water pressure, wind and flexing as if you were underway. This is the second sailing video I have seen in two days that shows the need for a proper wet/dry vacuum on board ship. The other was SSL with Rick Moore and his dragging anchor episode.

Just a little life hack that I learned in culinary school when cutting onions and not crying. First really use a sawing motion with your sharpest knife to avoid squishing the oignon, also dont cut off the bottom of the onion and even cutting the onion in half and running it under cold water helps a lot!
