Big boats needs massive maintenance, thats why you have to let a yard do it. Too much for a single person or a couple.
@bikerfirefarter72803 жыл бұрын
@@ursus9104 With only a few exceptions you can do all general maintenance yourself, even on boats up to 50+ tons, the vessels are designed that way, only a few things might need a yard such as major parts like masts removal/re-fit (but that doesn't count as 'maintenance' that's usually a 'major repair') and hull works such as de-barnacle and re-paint. Even then a yard is just convenient. With ingenuity you can even mast refit without a 'yard'. Getting lifted out of the water, or 'dry-dock', is a major convenience and time saver for big hull works and masts though. I've helped/done several full maintenance jobs in and out of yards/water, from 30 footers to a 55-foot cat, sail and motors.

Portugal is famous for lots of things. One of the biggest is trading because of the amount of natural sea ports. That made lots of great sailors going back 15th and 16th centuries. One of the most popular seasoning in the world was first spread by the Portuguese. Can you guess which one it was. The English went crazy for the stuff. Pepper corns. Portugal also has the furthest western point of land in all of Europe.

It looks brand new again!! It must be nice to come to port every year and have the boat all polished up and cleaned while you are away and then you get to come back to a nice clean boat! I know that the two of you have to do your fair share of cleaning on the boat too. It's probably a nice fresh feeling to come back home after it has been cleaned up nicely. I wish that the two of you would consider coming to port in Astoria or Warrenton, Oregon. I really think that you would enjoy it here. We have had many movies filmed here, such as, Free Willy, Kindergarten Cop and the favorite for people your age, The Goonies! The Goonies tour has brought many people to our small coastal community. The beautiful Victorian homes alone are worth the trip. The best time of year to visit is usually July-September, as we are a subtropical rainforest and we receive a great deal of rain to keep it beautiful and green here. I wish the 3 of you a VERY safe and exciting journey, filled with great joy of adventure and beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Sending much love, light, prayers, and an abundance of beautiful blessings to you and all, from the magnificent spectacular Oregon coast. 🌊 🦀 🐳 🐙 🦈 🐋 🦑
