Hey there! We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.
We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran!

The Best way to clean filters (being an aquarist fir 40 years using those exact filters ) is to put them in a sealed container containing water and 1 cup of standard bleach, let sit for a day or 3 and rinse well in fresh water and air dry. The filter will now look and work like Brand New this can be done over and over for up to a decade before it may need replacing. Keep spares for each size filter so you can have one cleaning while one is being used. The bleach will clean all the pores in the filter and kill all organic matter, making it sterile again. the filters will come out pure white and like new if you put them in to a tall plastic container with bleach and water. mix 4 parts water 1 part bleach. you can keep reusing the mixture if you dedicate a sealable container for the task. rinse with fresh water when you remove them and let it air dry to allow all the chlorine to gas off since chlorine is no good for the membranes in your watermaker.

It’s an abandoned holiday resort, Pulau Besar, due to huge arguments between different religious groups with various sacred sites etc golf course abandoned too. I really mangled this post earlier (no proof reading, typing on iPhone wearing or possibly not… glasses) 😳😅

Not sure if I missed it before, but once the company loads RR2 for shipping, are they leaving the mast in-place, or will that have to come down and be stepped as part of delivery? I'm seeing both options depending on the service company, and was wondering which option you're using.

It’s a few years ago. Very tired I anchored at pisang island, it was already dark thinking it was one island with a bay.. didn’t see all the rocks I somehow managed to be anchored in between .. happened I was in between the narrow street of two next door islands.. “Pisang” islands almost made my worst nightmare come true. Middle of the night it started blowing 45-50kn, then alarm went off.. a dragging anchor. I shine a lamp around and see the rocks , immediately made me decide to leave but then the anchor winch was refusing its task. I Pulled up 60 meters of chain by hand. No gloves ( didn’t help) We came very close towards the rocks. Left the place in the middle of storm in the dark. With bloody hands and very bad seas for hours after that.. something that could have gone terribly wrong. But lessons learned.. be careful nog go trip over a banana 🍌 ( pisang )

Enjoyable! I am just curious why you decided to head to the Med instead of staying in SE Asia for a while? Not that you have to justify yourselves, as some seem to think! And at the end if the day, it is no-ones business but yours, if you don't feel like sharing... and not that there is anything too horrible about cruising around in the Med instead!

Cleaning pre filters is a mugs game, you are putting the membranes at risk doing that! Please don’t! I worked on the first iteration of them back in the 80s in the oil field, we went through a couple of membranes before realising that the pre filters couldn’t cope with the river Zaire water at the mouth. Saving a few bucks on cleaning pre filters and risking hundreds of dollars worth of membranes?
