I'm a 71 yr old retired sailmaker. My dream of retiring to the Seven Seas has been scuttled, at least for the near future. My wife of over 40 years has dementia and I am committed to keeping her with me vs piutting her in a home. Videos such as yours are a kind of therapy for me, I watch a number of them which helps take my mind off the day to day stress. I enjoy watching all aspects of the sailing life as it pertains to sailing. Whether it's cruising on that perfect day or fighting for survival in the perfect storm. The ups and downs are all part of the package. You're right in saying that there are parts of the life that are personal and don't need to be aired. That being said, I find myself as much interested in the people as I am in living vicariously through them. It's like you become friends, though having never met, and you start to care about what happens to them. So when I get a notification I'll get on KZbin on my big screen and check out what the Vagabond family is up to this week. And, of course, we are all just about as excited as you guys about the new trimaran. Great videos. I came to your party late so I go back in the archives to check your earlier ones. See you next week.:)

Good on you Graham. I like to think in the next life all these things will come for those who lived a noble life. As I age, I am even more certain of it. For most of us, we have to make sacrifices in order to commit to a certain path. One cannot have it all. I've been binge watching these vids as well today. I got hooked with the video about the advantages of catamarans. I realized how level headed and smart Riley is.

As a male nurse working with elderly with severe dementia, I can only imagine your daily struggles. But I commend you for putting your wifes care first. It may not always show, but the little things at home that sparks her memory does wonders for her mental health, versus a home where she'd be subject to their daily routines and morning/bedtime hours. Being cared for by a family member vs a professional that would see her as a part of their job is barely even comparable :D Kudos to you sir!

*ANOTHER great video. I'm so impressed that you're not the typical sailing channel highlighting negative drama, using immature thumbnails/click-baits, and behaving boringly superficial. Keep doing whatever you're doing that causes your intellect, awareness, respect, integrity, and emotional intelligence to continuously grow and improve with time. As your personal development not only makes you a great example and inspiration for many to learn, grow, and evolve into incredible human beings as yourselves but it's really what makes your content & channel interesting, brilliant, and fun. That and of course along with your funny character and humor, sailing expertise, creativity, video editing skills, and "the boys". Riley and Elayna you are an absolute blast to watch!*

You also need to remind people that there's no camera crew. If things get dangerous or even just difficult - you have to preserve your lives and your boat - and that may mean no filming- maybe for many hours. That's how it is.

I really feel I have to mention that as someone who fell into the trap of BetterHelp it is not what it claims it is. The therapists are not actually all fully licensed and the prices are not cheaper than conventional therapy as they claim. I really feel the moral need to mention this as I have since found a qualified therapist who is also cheaper and it has been so much better and I can really see the difference; my better help therapist really did not help me at all in their time whereas my new therapist has been incredibly helpful since the first session. So much love to everyone and well done for taking the step to begin therapy if you are there, that step alone is monumental

This is great! I think we were in the same area as you around this time. We heard the rumor that you were around the corner when we were at Tahiti Beach and then we were in Hope Town for a few days before we continued on. It was an amazing time there - our first time in our trawler Changing Course. I can’t wait to get back! But thank you for showing some of the reality of boating, although it is hard to communicate the decisions and feelings as we go along on our boats. Joys, sorrows, anxiety and questioning and then the awe - all of it is so real!

In today's KZbin shows, no matter what it is, you now need to be professional in order to compete with the other shows. The content and the way that it is presented/films has become in some cases as good as a top rated TV show; it has to be. The camera equipment has gone from simple cameras put into waterproof cases for filming understand, to special waterproof camera costing thousands of dollars. It's all big business now a days, and there's always some new cute sailing couple just around the corner to take your spot as the darlings of the deep blue sea. Luckily, you guys have got it all going in all ways. Adorable, professional, silly, knowledgeable and very adventurous. You take a lot of time putting your shows together. Trying to keep them fun, exciting and as real as possible. After all, in the end, it is an entertainment program. Stay groovy and stay safe.

I know it wasnt easy, and that it took a long time to perfect your techniques to make episodes the world class quality that they are now. To all the others that want to follow your path? Obviously, it takes about 7 to 8 years, and lots of talent. Ive watched so many others, and they can be fun to watch, but you guys are the best and will continually set the bar for others like you that follow. And follow they should. One last comment. Your guy's show keeps getting better with every new video. I hope to see more sailing exploring new places you haven't been yet, like up the coast of British Columbia to Alaska would be quite spectacular to see.

The real sail information is what I love, from the time beginning when you were on a sail boat and explained so much talking about upgrading was wonderful. Been hoping you would get back to that.

Reality every time (not the bathroom stuff). Truth and struggles are far more important than idolising boat life. Makes it real and more human. Enjoying your videos

HAHAHA all your vlogs are great but this is the best, we all know its not glam and easy sailing (forgive the pun) but the fact you used the reality of actual reality not the projection is great.

I am loving the longer videos guys....Love watching your family and your antics the good, the bad and perhaps the ugly although haven't seen a lot of that i do have to say. I love that you inform us about things in general and that we get to live your life through your lenses. Your children are beautiful and so are you as a couple. Life is complicated for everyone and it can't be rosie all the time and i like that you share those moments to...making it real. thank you. I am sorry that i cannot afford to be a patron ...I am disabled and on a tight budget, but i am grateful you share your videos with all of us (those who can afford, and those of us who cannot) Be healthy and happy... much love Heather, (Watched from episode one and still lovin' every episode)

I find that one of the things I like the most on your channel is how much u try to be real about the reality of life, and even if u dint show u fighting or throughing things at each other... 😂 U definitely talk about it. Keep up the good work 👍🏼💕

I don't think y'all have to worry about being an "Instagram Perfect" channel. I've been watching since the very first episode was put up on KZbin. What I love is the realistic videos of what you are actually going through. One of the episodes I watched, with a lot of anxiety, was the one where Riley reinjured his neck at sea. I know that was a while back but, Elayna, I felt your and Riley's anxiety, uncertainty, and fear. Episodes before, and after, showed you weren't just in it to promote a glorious lifestyle, free from challenges. I've respected you both from the start because you do present the reality of boat life. It's the reason I've continued to follow you. Well, that and the beautiful scenery, amazing adventures, your lovely personalities, the amazing people you've welcomed onto your floating home, and your constant adherence to your principles, ethics, morals. You are both beautiful, altruistic people. I've loved watching you both, along with Lenny and Darwin, experiencing and posting about your amazing, challenging, frustrating, beautiful, anxious, intelligent, realistic adventures, living the life of your dreams. TGhank you so much for being real and sharing the amazing experience of your lives with all of us!

Never worry about a few technical issues. Nobody is interested in how professional you are. Those early episodes were raw and full of adventure - still, by far, the most entertaining.

I love you guys content I’ve watched every video and a lot of them twice. My bossman is Australian and have been in North Carolina for about 10 years they own a factory here. They own 100 acres in Eleuthera with about 1 mile of beach. They bought two catamarans and have them dry docked there they may go 5xs a year. But it is ABSOLUTELY Beautiful there. Take Care.

I rarely comment on your vids but I watch them all the time. I still like this Chanel from the monohull days. I think you guys are doing great and the content imo is a very good representation of what your lives are like on La Vaga. Of course any reasonable adult understands that personal issues are just that and the dynamic of a married couple is obviously going to have some bumps along the way, especially in close quarters. I see a strong couple and great parents every time I tune in. Keep up the great work. I’ll be watching. Peace.

LOVE BetterHelp. I have been seeing my therapist there for a year and a half and have made more progress with her than the last several combined. Their matching process should be used in all offices around the world, truthfully. And online therapy gets such a bad rap.....It's literally saved my little family. Everyone deserves to be mentally happy and healthy. Good on you guys for taking that seriously!
