Excellent video. Thank you for taking the time. I’m completely redoing my old fishing boat….looks just like your boat. Very helpful! Takes a lot of the guesswork out.

Great video, but the final stapling of the corner tabs was out of camera sight.

Nice video. Straight to the point, with the necessary detail. Thanks mate. Curious, is contact adhesive not necessary between the carpet and ply? I thought most people used it?
@studnickaaquatics805 ай бұрын
Yes it is. I didn't use t on the storage area lids since they are so small. Probably should have. I definitely used it on the entire floor.

Is there a difference between indoor-outdoor carpet and boat carpet, whether in terms of construction, texture, or appearance? I'm searching online for black indoor-outdoor carpet for a project, but all that is coming up in this color is listed as boat carpet. Thanks, and nice tutorial!

If the doors are any bigger that these you will also want to use outdoor carpet glue.
@CHAD-RYAN5 жыл бұрын
Use a pair of pliars to pull the carpet tight when you staple the carpet to the bottom

Thanks for the tip.

Make sure you put the carpet all the same way. If not it will reflect the light differently and some spots will look darker than others. Its the same affect as a baseball field lawn when its been cut and is checkered

Excellent point. It's all in the details.

Nice little boat dean i have a 20 foot cuddy i keep at my house in ireland for sea fishing .dont know what you guys call it but we call it a cuddy.has the compartment at the front withwindows and 2 doors you can fit 4 people inside if the weather takes a turn has running lights for night fishing too.ive got a camping stove and sleeping bags in it incase the kids get tired love the boat..did you not think of aluminium tops instead of wood for your project.
@studnickaaquatics806 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a nice boat. What fish do you catch out there. I went with the wood because I had a piece of marine grade plywood in my shop. I do like the idea of aluminum.

Im watching this to recarpet my cat tree 🐾 But I only use staples until the glue dries, then I remove staples.
@studnickaaquatics803 жыл бұрын
Great idea. I did the same thing on my boat carpet. It took a lot of staples in some areas. Removing them after the glue was dry worked great. Good Luck on the Cat Tree.

i’m doing this for a false floor in my 4wd. how do i do this with thick marine carpet
@studnickaaquatics804 жыл бұрын
You will have to use Marine Carpet Glue. I used it on my boat renovation. I did not use it on these doors because they were so small.

Glue?
@studnickaaquatics805 жыл бұрын
These door are so small that I didn't use glue. Probably should have but not enough room for the carpet to stretch... When I do the boat floor I will definitely use glue.
