I was torn between the bark and the piragua for my first ship. After your articles I went with the piragua and have really been enjoying it in 100 pnt games. It’s a great little ship and can punch out of its class. Great video right here. I enjoyed hearing more of yours thoughts and strategies on it!

I wasn't excited about the ship before, but I'm definitely putting the Piragua on my "buy list" after listening to this. I may have to do some cardboard template versions just to try the 200 pt 4 boat, 48 dice swarm build. :D

I have yet to purchase the Piragua, after this review that is going to change. Keep in mind this is coming from the guy who modeled the Piragua for Firelock. Nice review guys!

Thanks for the watch, and for modeling that little boat. When playing in a an amphibious game, a piragua under sweeps feels like an attack helicopter, because it hovers around spitting death.

My piragua is near done, painted the boat, but the masts have not been touched yet. Now that I do not have to deal with Covid lock downs blocking play, I look forward to using it. I may break down and do a solo game with it first though.

So, looking at the rules, in theory you could have 3 Piraguas avancing near eachother, and a commander with broadside. If they all have light cannons, that is the same as a sloop with light canons. Unlike the Sloop, however, not all of your cannons will be in one spot to be targeted. Given a good enough commander, you may be able to get 4 cannons to go off at once.
