BOATING ON THE RIVER NENE | Where am I hiking and wild camping next?

Due to still suffering from the longer effects of COVID, I decided to take a week off from Hiking and wild camping and do something a little more relaxing! I met one of my subscribers a few months back who kindly invited us out to go boating on the River Nene
We met at Orton Mere Loch, and spent a lovely evening on the boat, floating around Ferry Meadows in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. There was a beautiful sunset and we saw plenty of wildlife, along with lots of other people making the most of the great weather who were Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and Wild Swimming in The River Nene. I tried my hand at driving the boat and had a lovely time chatting to Rich and Lisa our gracious hosts who belong to the Peterborough Yacht Club.
Included in this video is the next Long distance hiking trail I am attempting next week! I can’t wait to get out hiking and wild camping again, but only have a limited amount of time so picked a shorter hiking trail to tackle. The route will also be slightly easier than the Snowdonia Way Mountain Route as there is far less elevation. I have chosen to hike The Brontë Way, Starting in Padiham, Lancashire and ending in Birstall, Yorkshire. The route takes in various sites that have strong associations with the writings and lives of the Brontë sisters.
This will be my fifth UK long distance hiking trail I have completed this year, and my sixth in total. I first started falling in love with long distance hiking and wild camping last August when I wild camped the West Highland Way, then as soon as lockdown finished this year I wild camped the Cleveland Way, the Cumbria Way, The Great Glen Way in Scotland and most recently The Snowdonia Way Mountain Route.

I was ill for 5 days then there were about 9 days general coughing up rubbish, but feeling more less my usual self. Hoping you feel better soon. Any section of the SW Coast path , you could even do the whole thing in bite size chunks as and when the fancy took you !

Great fun, I used to have a wee boat on Loch Lomond , unfortunately due to work commitments at the time , the boat sort of became a submarine, due to lack of use. But in the end it went to a wee man who really brought it back to life. XX Derek.

@@DrunkOnWanderlust Just one more thing THAT SAL e WAAAR tent you have is bomb proof ...I own 2 Hilliberg tents , The Soulo and the Acto and i have the Salewa Sierra Leone 2 and i can tell you for sure that Salewa tents are massive value for money and although the Hillebergs are made well the design of the Acto is shite compared to Salewa smaller tents also Acto flaps like a Budgie in even the lightest winds...I am really keen to see what your next tent is ..God bless you love .
