Boating out of Manasquan Inlet with Rough Seas

Is it better to cut through the waves head on, or take them at an angle to avoid slapping? If you do it at an angle, will that make it easier to roll over and capsize the boat?

Good question. It is better to take waves on a 45 degree angle but the inlet is sometimes more like a washing machine. Also with other boats coming in and out that kind of maneuvering is almost impossible.

What's the depths in the inlet

Depth is @ 20ft but sometimes reads 17. If you look to south side as we are coming out you can see the shoal starting to form. Two days later it was almost half way across the inlet.
